     Lady Emma Cecile Gordon was born on 26 May 1953.¹ She is the daughter of Alastair Ninian John Gordon, 6th Marquess of Aberdeen and Temair and Anne Barry.¹ She married, firstly, Dr. Rodney Alan Foale, son of Maurice Spencer Foale, on 6 September 1980.¹ She and Dr. Rodney Alan Foale were divorced.² She married John Dewe Mathews in 2010.²
