     Lt.-Col. John Drogo Montagu was born on 30 May 1916.¹ He was the son of John William Montagu and Violet Irene Shuter.² He married Dorothy Boreham Chuter, daughter of Charles Edward Chuter, on 24 November 1952.¹ He died on 18 August 2013 at age 97.³
     He was educated at Exeter School, Exeter, Devon, England^G.¹ He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He gained the rank of officer between 1936 and 1950 in the 2nd Punjab Regiment.¹ He fought in the Second World War, in Burma, where he was mentioned in despatches.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Indian Army.¹ He lived in 2003 at The Officer's House, Coastguard Lane, Freshwaetr, Isle of Wight, England^G.¹

     Dorothy Boreham Chuter was the daughter of Charles Edward Chuter.² She married Lt.-Col. John Drogo Montagu, son of John William Montagu and Violet Irene Shuter, on 24 November 1952.¹ She died in 1990.¹
