She was the daughter of Sir Albert Edward Sassoon, 2nd Bt. and Aline Caroline de Rothschild.1 She married George Horatio Charles Cholmondeley, 5th Marquess of Cholmondeley, son of George Henry Hugh Cholmondeley, 4th Marquess of Cholmondeley and Winifred Ida Kingscote, on 6 August 1913.1 She died on 26 December 1989 at age 95.
     Her married name became Cholmondeley. After her marriage, Sybil Rachel Betty Cecile Sassoon was styled as Marchioness of Cholmondeley on 16 March 1923. She was Superintendent of the Women's Royal Naval Service between 1939 and 1946.2 She was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1946.2
