     Lady Elizabeth Christiana Hervey was born on 13 May 1759.² She was the daughter of Rt. Rev. Frederick Augustus Hervey, 4th Earl of Bristol and Elizabeth Davers.¹ She married, firstly, John Thomas Foster, son of Reverend Thomas Foster and Dorothy Burgh, on 2 April 1776.¹ She married, secondly, William Cavendish, 5th Duke of Devonshire, son of William Cavendish, 4th Duke of Devonshire and Charlotte Elizabeth Boyle, Baroness Clifford, on 19 October 1809.¹ She died on 20 March 1824 at age 64.¹
     From 2 April 1776, her married name became Foster. From 19 October 1809, her married name became Cavendish. After her marriage, Lady Elizabeth Christiana Hervey was styled as Duchess of Devonshire on 19 October 1809. She has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.⁴
     

     John Thomas Foster was the son of Reverend Thomas Foster and Dorothy Burgh.¹ He married Lady Elizabeth Christiana Hervey, daughter of Rt. Rev. Frederick Augustus Hervey, 4th Earl of Bristol and Elizabeth Davers, on 2 April 1776.² He died on 10 October 1796.
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Dunleer between 1776 and 1783.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Ennis, County Clare between 1783 and 1790.¹

     Lord Richard Cavendish was born circa 1751. He was the son of William Cavendish, 4th Duke of Devonshire and Charlotte Elizabeth Boyle, Baroness Clifford.¹ He died in 1781, unmarried.¹

     George Augustus Henry Cavendish, 1st Earl of Burlington was born on 21 March 1754.¹ He was the son of William Cavendish, 4th Duke of Devonshire and Charlotte Elizabeth Boyle, Baroness Clifford.¹ He married Lady Elizabeth Compton, daughter of Charles Compton, 7th Earl of Northampton and Lady Anne Somerset, on 27 February 1782 at Trinity Chapel, Compton Street, St. George Hanover Square, London, England^G.² He died on 4 May 1834 at age 80 at Burlington House, Piccadilly, London, England^G.² He was buried at All Saints Church, Derby, Derbyshire, England^G.² His will was proven (by probate) in June 1834.²

     Her married name became Cavendish. After her marriage, Lady Elizabeth Compton was styled as Countess of Burlington on 10 September 1831.

     Hon. William Cavendish was born on 10 January 1783.³ He was the son of George Augustus Henry Cavendish, 1st Earl of Burlington and Lady Elizabeth Compton.¹ He married Hon. Louisa O'Callaghan, daughter of Cornelius O'Callaghan, 1st Baron Lismore of Shanbally and Frances Ponsonby, on 18 July 1807 at Charles Street, Berkeley Square, London, England.^4,5 He died on 15 January 1812 at age 29 at Holker Park, Lancashire, England.^1,5
