J-novel plans to release the main novel series. The first omnibus release is tentatively slated for July 2021. I am not yet uncertain if they intend to include volume 16 and any future books but the first 15 are currently confirmed to be in their plans.
Yeah I know all that but my point were that the scene in itself were very funny or well at least I found it funny.
He just throws out a insane amount to get her to be silent and she just reply with a sure and pays it right there like it was nothing.
Honestly, there is not much mystery to that, or to Xelloss' motives - he gives Lina the talismans because empowering her serves a purpose at the time, as leaving her powerless would force Xelloss to more openly protect her, which in turn would make Garv more cautious and thus more dangerous.
Also, with Xelloss being, what, the third most powerful active mazoku by the story's end, it's not like the talismans do much for him. Giving them up does not really cost him anything. (Not to mention that if he ever needed the talismans back, it's not like Lina could do anything to stop him.) Similarly, material possessions hold little merit for him. Ultimately, he does not lose anything and does not gain anything in the transaction. So the trade is a meaningless gesture on his end, serving mostly to avoid making Lina suspicious.
Oh, and ironically, despite appearances, it's a fine example of a good trade, where both sides gain more than they lose.
That's my take on it.

Well, if so, joke's on him because
Final novel spoilers
Lina destroys the talismans. Xelloss will likely outlive her by many lifetimes, and all that time, he will have to live with the thought that he can never get his talismans back. I honestly wonder if that notion would annoy him.
Does anyone remember the scene where she tries to buy the crystals from Xelloss and he tells her a ridiculously high price and she just says sure and pays it?
Loved that scene, although I think Xelloss is just waiting for her to die and will then take them back seeing as he most likely will outlive her many times over or at least he thinks so.
