Wakana Akio is an animation producer and former photographic director. After working at Mushi Production and Tokyo Animation Film he established Studio Gallop in 1978 and served as president and CEO until 2012 when he was succeeded by Sugimura Juurou. However, Sugimura retired from his position within a year and Wakana re-assumed his role as president in 2013.
