“I don’t like going there,” Matty responded, jutting his chin out with false confidence. He didn’t have many clear memories of going to A&E, but the hazy snippets were from a dark time. He was sixteen and downed an entire bottle of his mother’s sleeping pills. He was twenty one and had alcohol poisoning. He was twenty four and broke his wrist, falling while a toxic mix of drunk and high. He was twenty six and he ODed for the first time. He was twenty seven and George had broken his shoulder, Matty sitting shaking with fear and withdrawal in the waiting room. He was twenty seven and ODed a second time. He was twenty seven and admitted to detox. He was twenty eight and had relapsed. He was thirty and had food poisoning, throwing up everything he had ever even considered eating ever. It’s seven months after the end of “The Cellophane House” and George is lost. Matty is lost too, as far as George can tell from their late-night drunken, stoned, fucked up conversations.
What do you do when life hands you everything you ever wanted and then rips it away? What if you’ve always thought you were a good person, even if some people in your life might disagree, and then you realise you’re not? What if none of this is actually fix-able at all? If he’s ever going to find his way back, George will need to face up to all of these questions and more. Being an adult, he’s discovering, isn’t all it’s talked up to be. It’s just really fucking hard.

I'm really sorry about this, thank you so much to everyone who has supported the story so far and a special apology to @Fangirlthings because this is your story that allowed me to write. My mood and some other things beyond my control have not allowed me to be constant and give you the story that I should, so I decided to PUT IT ON PAUSE FOR A TIME while I give it the importance and the time it deserves, so you can read it in a satisfactory way.
For the time being I'll just post some short stuff here and on Tumblr if you want to read it.

“George I want someone to love me!” Matty raises his voice, stepping away.
“I do love you! Matty you’re my best friend,” he reaches out for Matty but he wraps his arms around himself so George can’t grasp him.
“Oh my god George,” he yells, “It’s not like I’m replacing you as my best friend!”
“Then what do you need him for?!” Matty’s patience has run out, the candle has burnt down to nothing. There’s nothing left.
Everything that he’s been holding onto has been thrown out into the open, it’s been shoved out into the light for both of them to see properly and he’s so sick of it, he so sick of his stupid fight.
“Well George you’re not going to fuck me are you?!” George is taken aback and he looks at Matty, baffled. George looks like he’s about to say something else but Matty stops him before he says something he’ll regret.
“Don’t.” Matty stalks away, fuming and finds his way somewhere else before he’ll do something he really can’t take back.

george had come to live with matty's mum and them, a couple of years after his parents split up. at the age of fourteen, he blamed the feeling he felt towards him when they met, for a yearning for affection, from a father figure long after being away from his dad. george had filled the gap in matty's heart that longed for affection from his dad, and he was truly grateful for george. but as they'd spent more time together it just got more and more out of the ordinary and matty's chest bubbled thinking of him. as he grew older, he couldn't deny for any longer that from the moment george had walked through the door and introduced himself, matty had completely fallen for him.
