It's a single word, a simple question, in response to a much more complicated question. Logan doesn't sound angry, but still it hangs in the air like a guillotine. Kurt had exposed his neck.
They were in the middle of a... delicate situation when Kurt had asked that stupid, messy question in the first place. If Kurt hadn't been pressed under Logan's naked body, pinned by the other man's hips, they might have scrambled away.
Kurt hadn't really meant to ask it. (Or maybe he had, just not yet, not like this. He'd certainly been thinking about it a lot. Hot & embarrassed in the dark of the night. Struggling to imagine their own fingers as Logan's. Mumbled to themself as quiet as a prayer, or a sin.) It had slipped out in the heat of the moment -Logan's teeth in their neck, claws in the bed on either side of their shoulders, deep growling rumbling between their ears til they felt brainless- mixed among moans & whimpers. So they didn't know how to respond either. The longer the silence hangs the more confused & angry Logan starts to seem.
