A few too many shots at the bar, maybe a beer or two too many back at Buck's loft. It wasn’t the first time that Buck and Eddie had fallen into this comfortable, cathartic drunken haze together, but this time felt different. A stolen glance, a touch that lingered just a little too long, a small sigh as they pulled away from each other.
The soft lighting in the loft, combined with the alcohol and the view across LA felt decidedly romantic. The air felt different. They’d been here before, they’d laughed it off, usually with Eddie clapping Buck on the shoulder. Not tonight.
