Chapter Text
If Han Sooyoung had known that Kim Dokja would be so curious about their childhood memories, she would have told him about it sooner.
In the days between the trial and the day that Dokja's friends would arrive, Dokja would take every single chance he could to ask Sooyoung and Joonghyuk about their shared history. While Joonghyuk was cooking, he often spoke quietly to Dokja about their time in the hospital, quoting young Dokja with a small smile on his face.
Dokja usually came to talk to Han Sooyoung when Joonghyuk started a stream. Today was no exception, Dokja knocking on her bedroom door with a warm smile.
“Hey Sooyoung, may I ask some questions?”
Sooyoung nodded and scooted over, her attention focused on her laptop. She'd really been neglecting her writing recently, so she was trying to catch up.
Dokja sat next to her, glancing at the screen and recognizing the draft she was working on. He let her type for a while, happy to just exist in the same room as Sooyoung.
He'd given up on trying to identify his feelings for Yoo Joonghyuk and Han Sooyoung. They were just his people, whatever that may include.
“What did we initially bond over?”
Sooyoung glanced at him with a small smile on her face, opening an old fanfiction webstiton her computer and pointing towards her 2009 Olympus Guardian fanfic.
“Some people were complaining about mischaracterization in my fanfic, I punched them, and then you found me under the stairs.”
Dokja snorted, scanning the tags of the fic.
“Sounds about right. I didn't know I was a fan of Olympus Guardian.”
“You were a mega fan, sometimes you knew the characters better than I did. One time I wrote Zeus as a genuinely loving father and you just laughed at me.”
Dokja snorted at the idea.
“Why would you even consider writing Zeus as a good father?”
“It's fanfiction! You're allowed to mischaracterize them a little bit for certain ideas.”
Dokja laughed at that, Sooyoung's flushed face was infinitely more amusing than what she'd said.
“I know, I know.”
Sooyoung continued rambling, Dokja zoning out as he stared at her.
Sooyoung really was pretty. She was nowhere near the intimidating beauty of Yoo Joonghyuk, but there was a subtle beauty to her that Dokka could really appreciate.
Suddenly, a memory flashed through Dokja's head, causing him to wince. Tomorrow was going to be a trainwreck, he could already feel it.
Sooyoung seemed to have noticed his reaction, pausing.
“Are you okay?”
“Ah sorry, I'm just worried about Kkoma. He's rather…”
Dokja trailed off, trying to find the right word. Touchy? Affectionate? Obsessive?
Han Sooyoung's expression darkened at the mention of Kkoma. Seemed like she and Joonghyuk had been talking about him.
“If he tries anything, tell me and I'll punch him for you.”
Dokja snorted. That would be an interesting sight.
“He probably won't, the others are coming too after all. Uriel and Wukong will be more than likely to punch him first.”
Dokja laughed to himself. He still remembered how they'd reacted after learning what Kkoma did, beating him up for “soiling Damon” or whatever.
He took out his phone, showing the picture from that time to Sooyoung. Sooyoung snorted, finding the doppelganger of Yoo Joonghyuk getting beat up hilarious.
“He won't be able to try anything while they're here.”
Meanwhile, unknown to Dokja, his friends were having a chat on a separate group chat.
<Secretive Plotter> Hey Uriel, you want to see the three of them get together, right?
<Demon-Like Judge of Fire> Absolutely! That trial made it clear that they belong together.
<Great Sage, Heaven's Equal> Oh dear.
<Secretive Plotter> I have an idea to get them to finally start dating Dokja
<Demon-Like Judge of Fire> Oooo what's the plan?
<Secretive Plotter> That's spoilers. Just let me do my part.
Sitting at an airport, waiting for his flight to Seoul, Yoo Kkoma smiled to himself.
<Great Sage, Heaven's Equal> I have a bad feeling about this, what are you planning Kkoma?
<Demon-Like Judge of Fire> Okay, as long as they end up together in the end.
<Abyssal Black Flame Dragon> I don't see why you two care so much about that, ew.
<Great Sage, Heaven’s Equal> Yoo Kkoma, what are you planning.
They would definitely get together. But not before he had his fun.
<Secretive Plotter> Just a nudge in the right direction.
Joonghyuk was just about to finish stream when he heard a knock on his door.
“Come in.”
Both Han Sooyoung and Kim Dokja entered, sitting just behind him with matching smirks on their faces. Predictably, chat started spamming messages as saying hi. Joonghyuk glared at them.
“What do you want.”
“We had an idea for a trio name while chatting.”
Joonghyuk groaned at Sooyoung's words, burying his face in his hands.
“Sometimes I wonder if you're the reason why my fandom is still alive.”
“Shush! We've all gone by nicknames that include the name king, right?”
Joonghyuk paused, staring blankly at Dojka. Dokja just grinned, pointing to his back.
“Demon King.”
“Ah.”
Sooyoung jumped back in, a massive grin on her face.
“So, Supreme King, Demon King and False King. Together, we are the Supreme Demon Kings of Lies!”
Joonghyuk snorted. It was a ridiculous, cringey name. Yet, it was sort of endearing, especially coming from Sooyoung.
“If you want to call us that, that's fine. I'll just refer to you two as my Kings.”
“Damn, already trying to push the harem allegations again.”
“Dokja, shut up.”
“Rude.”
They continued to bicker, even as chat screamed their heads off.
>OH MY GOD HIS KINGS
> SOMEONE MAKE FANART, NOW!
> False King Han Sooyoung, can we please ask for a vlog at some point?
> I LOVE THESE THREE
> CAN WE ALL AGREE THAT THOSE FANS THAT TRIED TO PULL THEM APART SUCK?
> YES
> YESSSSSSS
> ABSOLUTELY
> OUR THREE KINGS FOREVER
> Now let's hope that two of them don't start dating and push the third one out
> Polycule
> Polycule
> Polycule
> Polycule
> They can just stay friends guys, damn 😭
