Title:Effect of resonance impurities on Drude peak broadening in uniaxially strained graphene
View PDFAbstract:A recent experimental study of the far-infrared transmission spectrum of monolayer graphene has shown that the Drude peak width increases by more than 10% per 1% of applied mechanical strain, while the Drude weight and the Fermi energy remain unchanged. We study influence of strain on scattering from the resonance impurities. We propose a mechanism of augmentation of the scattering rate due to the shift in the position of the resonance. Using the simple Lifshitz and the Fano-Anderson models to describe substitutional and adsorbant impurities, we investigate the increment of the impurity scattering as a function of Fermi energy and impurity potential . The result shows both increase and decrease for different values of Fermi energy, which substantially exceeds the Born approximation estimates in its absolute value.
