Explainable Malware Detection with Tailored Logic Explained Networks
Abstract: Malware detection is a constant challenge in cybersecurity due to the rapid development of new attack techniques. Traditional signature-based approaches struggle to keep pace with the sheer volume of malware samples. Machine learning offers a promising solution, but faces issues of generalization to unseen samples and a lack of explanation for the instances identified as malware. However, human-un… ▽ More

The Physics of the B Factories
Abstract: This work is on the Physics of the B Factories. Part A of this book contains a brief description of the SLAC and KEK B Factories as well as their detectors, BaBar and Belle, and data taking related issues. Part B discusses tools and methods used by the experiments in order to obtain results. The results themselves can be found in Part C. Infinite-energy solutions for the Navier-Stokes equations in a strip revisited
Abstract: The paper deals with the Navier-Stokes equations in a strip in the class of spatially non-decaing (infinite-energy) solutions belonging to the properly chosen uniformly local Sobolev spaces. The global well-posedness and dissipativity of the Navier-Stokes equations in a strip in such spaces has been first established in [S. Zelik, "Spatially nondecaying solutions of the 2D Navier-Stokes equation i… ▽ More

Precision Measurement of the Weak Mixing Angle in Moller Scattering
Abstract: We report on a precision measurement of the parity-violating asymmetry in fixed target electron-electron (Moller) scattering: A_PV = -131 +/- 14 (stat.) +/- 10 (syst.) parts per billion, leading to the determination of the weak mixing angle \sin^2
θ _W^eff = 0.2397 +/- 0.0010 (stat.) +/- 0.0008 (syst.), evaluated at Q^2 = 0.026 GeV^2. Combining this result with the measurements of \sin^2θ _W^eff at… ▽ MoreSubmitted 26 April, 2005; originally announced April 2005.

Observation of Parity Nonconservation in Moller Scattering
Abstract: We report a measurement of the parity-violating asymmetry in fixed target electron-electron (Moller) scattering: A_PV = -175 +/- 30 (stat.) +/- 20 (syst.) parts per billion. This first direct observation of parity nonconservation in Moller scattering leads to a measurement of the electron's weak charge at low energy Q^e_W = -0.053 +/- 0.011. This is consistent with the Standard Model expectation… ▽ More

Precision Measurement of the Proton and Deuteron Spin Structure Functions g2 and Asymmetries A2
Abstract: We have measured the spin structure functions g2p and g2d and the virtual photon asymmetries A2p and A2d over the kinematic range 0.02 < x < 0.8 and 0.7 < Q^2 < 20 GeV^2 by scattering 29.1 and 32.3 GeV longitudinally polarized electrons from transversely polarized NH3 and 6LiD targets. Our measured g2 approximately follows the twist-2 Wandzura-Wilczek calculation. The twist-3 reduced matrix elem… ▽ More

Measurements of the $Q^2$-Dependence of the Proton and Neutron Spin Structure Functions g1p and g1n
Abstract: The structure functions g1p and g1n have been measured over the range 0.014 < x < 0.9 and 1 < Q2 < 40 GeV2 using deep-inelastic scattering of 48 GeV longitudinally polarized electrons from polarized protons and deuterons. We find that the Q2 dependence of g1p (g1n) at fixed x is very similar to that of the spin-averaged structure function F1p (F1n). From a NLO QCD fit to all available data we fi… ▽ More

Beam Test of Gamma-ray Large Area Space Telescope Components
Abstract: A beam test of GLAST (Gamma-ray Large Area Space Telescope) components was performed at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center in October, 1997. These beam test components were simple versions of the planned flight hardware. Results on the performance of the tracker, calorimeter, and anti-coincidence charged particle veto are presented.

Bremsstrahlung Suppression due to the LPM and Dielectric Effects in a Variety of Materials
Abstract: The cross section for bremsstrahlung from highly relativistic particles is suppressed due to interference caused by multiple scattering in dense media, and due to photon interactions with the electrons in all materials. We present here a detailed study of bremsstrahlung production of 200 keV to 500 MeV photons from 8 and 25 GeV electrons traversing a variety of target materials. For most targets… ▽ More

Measurement of Dielectric Suppression of Bremsstrahlung
Abstract: In 1953, Ter-Mikaelian predicted that the bremsstrahlung of low energy photons in a medium is suppressed because of interactions between the produced photon and the electrons in the medium. This suppression occurs because the emission takes place over on a long distance scale, allowing for destructive interference between different instantaneous photon emission amplitudes. We present here measur… ▽ More

Inclusive Electron Scattering from Nuclei at $x \simeq 1$
Abstract: The inclusive A(e,e') cross section for $x \simeq 1$ was measured on $^2$H, C, Fe, and Au for momentum transfers $Q^2$ from 1-7 (GeV/c)$^2$. The scaling behavior of the data was examined in the region of transition from y-scaling to x-scaling. Throughout this transitional region, the data exhibit $
ξ $-scaling, reminiscent of the Bloom-Gilman duality seen in free nucleon scattering.Submitted 25 April, 1995; originally announced April 1995.
