Nuclear matter with JISP16 NN interaction
Abstract: Saturation properties of the JISP16 NN interaction are studied in symmetric nuclear matter calculations, with special attention paid to the convergence properties with respect to the number of partial waves. We also present results of pure neutron matter calculations with the JISP16 interaction.

Microscopic and non-adiabatic Schrödinger equation derived from the Generator Coordinate Method based on 0 and 2 quasiparticle HFB states
Abstract: A new approach called the Schrödinger Collective Intrinsic Model (SCIM) has been developed to achieve a microscopic description of the coupling between collective and intrinsic excitations. The derivation of the SCIM proceeds in two steps. The first step is based on a generalization of the symmetric moment expansion of the equations derived in the framework of the Generator Coordinate Method (GCM)… ▽ More

Nuclear Scission and Quantum Localization
Abstract: We examine nuclear scission within a fully quantum-mechanical microscopic framework, focusing on the non-local aspects of the theory. Using $^{240}\textrm{Pu}$ hot fission as an example, we discuss the identification of the fragments and the calculation of their kinetic, excitation, and interaction energies, through the localization of the orbital wave functions. We show that the "disentanglement"… ▽ More

The microscopic theory of fission
Abstract: Fission-fragment properties have been calculated for thermal neutron-induced fission on a $^{239}\textrm{Pu}$ target, using constrained Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov calculations with a finite-range effective interaction. A quantitative criterion based on the interaction energy between the nascent fragments is introduced to define the scission configurations. The validity of this criterion is benchmar… ▽ More

Microscopic calculation of 240Pu scission with a finite-range effective force
Abstract: Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov calculations of hot fission in $^{240}\textrm{Pu}$ have been performed with a newly-implemented code that uses the D1S finite-range effective interaction. The hot-scission line is identified in the quadrupole-octupole-moment coordinate space. Fission-fragment shapes are extracted from the calculations. A benchmark calculation for $^{226}\textrm{Th}$ is obtained and compar… ▽ More

Microscopic description of elastic and inelastic proton scattering from 208Pb
Abstract: Information on the equation of state (EOS) of neutron matter may be gained from studies of 208Pb. Descriptions of 208Pb require credible models of structure, taking particular note also of the spectrum. Such may be tested by analyses of scattering data. Herein, we report on such analyses using an RPA model for 208Pb in a folding model of the scattering. No a posteriori adjustment of parameters a… ▽ More

Probing Correlated Ground States with Microscopic Optical Model for Nucleon Scattering off Doubly-Closed-Shell Nuclei
Abstract: The RPA long range correlations are known to play a significant role in understanding the depletion of single particle-hole states observed in (e, e') and (e, e'p) measurements. Here the Random Phase Approximation (RPA) theory, implemented using the D1S force is considered for the specific purpose of building correlated ground states and related one-body density matrix elements. These may be imp… ▽ More

Microscopic approach of fission dynamics applied to fragment kinetic energy and mass distributions in 238U
Abstract: The collective dynamics of low energy fission in 238U is described within a time-dependent formalism based on the Gaussian Overlap Approximation of the time-dependent Generator Coordinate Method. The intrinsic deformed configurations of the nucleus are determined from the self-consistent Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov procedure employing the effective force D1S with constraints on the quadrupole and oc… ▽ More
