Quantum physics as the projective representation theory of Noether symmetries
Abstract: I construct lowest-energy representations of non-centrally extended algebras of Noether symmetries, including diffeomorphisms and reparametrizations of the observer's trajectory. This may be viewed as a new scheme for quantization. First classical physics is formulated as the cohomology of a certain Koszul-Tate (KT) complex, using not only fields and antifields but also their conjugate momenta.… ▽ More

Constrained Fock spaces as Virasoro modules
Abstract: The method of constrained Hamiltonian systems can be used to reduce Fock modules. It is applied to the Virasoro algebra, where a possibly new realization is found.

Extended diffeomorphism algebras and trajectories in jet space
Abstract: Let the DRO (Diffeomorphism, Reparametrization, Observer) algebra DRO(N) be the extension of $diff(N)\oplus diff(1)$ by its four inequivalent Virasoro-like cocycles. Here $diff(N)$ is the diffeomorphism algebra in $N$-dimensional spacetime and $diff(1)$ describes reparametrizations of trajectories in the space of tensor-valued $p$-jets. DRO(N) has a Fock module for each $p$ and each representati… ▽ More

Fock representations of non-centrally extended super-diffeomorphism algebras
Abstract: A class of Fock representations of non-central extensions of the super-diffeomorphism algebra in (N+1|M) dimensions is constructed, by superization of the paper [physics/9705040]. The representations act on trajectories in (N|M)-dimensional superspace, the extra dimension being the parameter along the trajectory. The restrictions to various subalgebras are considered. In particular, the centrall… ▽ More

Lowest-energy representations of non-centrally extended diffeomorphism algebras
Abstract: We describe a class of non-central extensions of the diffeomorphism algebra in N-dimensional spacetime, and construct lowest-energy modules thereof, thus generalizing work of Eswara-Rao and Moody. There is one representation for each representation of $Vir\ltimes_{k_0}\km{gl(N)}$ (an extension of the semi-direct product). Similar modules are constructed for gauge algebras.

$Z^N$-graded Lie algebras: Fock representations and reducibility conditions
Abstract: Manifestly consistent Fock representations of non-central (but ``core-central'') extensions of the $Z^N$-graded algebras of functions and vector fields on the $N$-dimensional torus $T^N$ are constructed by a kind of renormalization procedure. These modules are of lowest-energy type, but the energy is not a linear function of the momentum. Modulo a technical assumption, reducibility conditions ar… ▽ More

Vect(N) Invariants and Quantum Gravity
Abstract: The Feigin-Fuks construction of irreducible lowest-weight Virasoro representations is reviewed using physics terminology. The procedure consists of two steps: constructing invariants and applying them to the Fock vacuum. We attempt to generalize this construction to the diffeomorphism algebra in higher dimensions. The first step is straightforward, but the second is difficult, due to the appeare… ▽ More

Diffeomorphism group and conformal fields
Abstract: Conformal fields are a new class of $Vect(N)$ modules which are more general than tensor fields. The corresponding diffeomorphism group action is constructed. Conformal fields are thus invariantly defined.

Vect(N) conformal fields and their exterior derivatives
Abstract: Conformal fields are a recently discovered class of representations of the algebra of vector fields in $N$ dimensions. Invariant first-order differential operators (exterior derivatives) for conformal fields are constructed.

Conformal fields: a class of representations of Vect(N)
Abstract: $Vect(N)$, the algebra of vector fields in $N$ dimensions, is studied. Some aspects of local differential geometry are formulated as $Vect(N)$ representation theory. There is a new class of modules, {\it conformal fields}, whose restrictions to the subalgebra $sl(N+1) \subset Vect(N)$ are finite-dimensional $sl(N+1)$ representations. In this regard they are simpler than tensor fields. Fock modul… ▽ More
