MC@NLO for the hadronic decay of Higgs bosons in associated production with vector bosons
Abstract: In this article we describe simulations of the hadronic decay of Higgs bosons produced in association with vector bosons at linear and hadronic colliders. We use the Monte Carlo at next-to-leading-order MC@NLO matching prescription with the Herwig++ event generator to predict various spectra of the resulting b anti-b pairs and compare our results with leading order and matrix element correction… ▽ More

NLO production of W' bosons at hadron colliders using the MC@NLO and POWHEG methods
Abstract: We present a next-to-leading order (NLO) treatment of the production of a new charged heavy vector boson, generically called W', at hadron colliders via the Drell-Yan process. We fully consider the interference effects with the Standard Model W boson and allow for arbitrary chiral couplings to quarks and leptons. We present results at both leading order (LO) and NLO in QCD using the MC@NLO/Herwi… ▽ More

The POWHEG method applied to top pair production and decays at the ILC
Abstract: We study the effects of gluon radiation in top pair production and their decays for e+e- annihilation at the ILC. To achieve this we apply the POWHEG method and interface our results to the Monte Carlo event generator Herwig++. We consider a center-of-mass energy of 500GeV and compare decay correlations and bottom quark distributions before hadronization.

Herwig++ Status Report
Abstract: Herwig++ is the successor of the event generator HERWIG. In its present version 2.2.1 it provides a program for full LHC event generation which is superior to the previous program in many respects. We briefly summarize its features and describe present work and some future plans.

Herwig++ Physics and Manual
Abstract: In this paper we describe Herwig++ version 2.3, a general-purpose Monte Carlo event generator for the simulation of hard lepton-lepton, lepton-hadron and hadron-hadron collisions. A number of important hard scattering processes are available, together with an interface via the Les Houches Accord to specialized matrix element generators for additional processes. The simulation of Beyond the Stand… ▽ More

Abstract: This paper describes the MC@NLO method for matching next-to-leading order (NLO) perturbative QCD with the parton shower and hadronization model of the Monte Carlo (MC) event generator tt Herwig++, for e+e- annihilation and Drell-Yan lepton pair production. A Positive-Weight Next-to-Leading-Order Monte Carlo for e+e- Annihilation to Hadrons
Abstract: We apply the positive-weight Monte Carlo method of Nason for simulating QCD processes accurate to Next-To-Leading Order to the case of e+e- annihilation to hadrons. The method entails the generation of the hardest gluon emission first and then subsequently adding a `truncated' shower before the emission. We have interfaced our result to the Herwig++ shower Monte Carlo program and obtained better… ▽ More
