Non-Equilibrium Noise in V-Shape Linear Well Profiles
Abstract: Non-equilibrium noise is characterized as noise realizations where external agitations disrupt the harmonic equilibrium of Brownian motion. Excitations in a particle's random walk into a so-called Lévy flight changes the distribution of the noise from Gaussian to the fat-tailed Lévy distribution. Generalization between Gaussian and Lévy distributions is the $

Applying projective functors to arbitrary holonomic simple modules
Abstract: We prove that applying a projective functor to a holonomic simple module over a semi-simple finite dimensional complex Lie algebra produces a module that has an essential semi-simple submodule of finite length. Actions of acylindrically hyperbolic groups on $\ell^1$
Abstract: We construct affine uniformly Lipschitz actions on $\ell^1$ and $L^1$ for certain groups with hyperbolic features. For acylindrically hyperbolic groups, our actions have unbounded orbits, while for residually finite hyperbolic groups and for mapping class groups, the actions have proper orbits, with the induced $L^1$-metric quasi-isometric (respectively, almost quasi-isometric) to the word metric.

Embedding relatively hyperbolic groups in products of trees
Abstract: We show that a relatively hyperbolic group quasi-isometrically embeds in a product of finitely many trees if the peripheral subgroups do, and we provide an estimate on the minimal number of trees needed. Applying our result to the case of 3-manifolds, we show that fundamental groups of closed 3-manifolds have linearly controlled asymptotic dimension at most 8. To complement this result, we observe… ▽ More

The sl_3 web algebra
Abstract: In this paper we use Kuperberg's $\mathfrak{sl}_3$-webs and Khovanov's $\mathfrak{sl}_3$-foams to define a new algebra $K^S$, which we call the $\mathfrak{sl}_3$-web algebra. It is the $\mathfrak{sl}_3$ analogue of Khovanov's arc algebra. We prove that $K^S$ is a graded symmetric Frobenius algebra. Furthermore, we categorify an instance of $q$-skew Howe duality, which allows us to prove that… ▽ More

Modulus and Poincaré inequalities on non-self-similar Sierpinski carpets
Abstract: A carpet is a metric space homeomorphic to the Sierpinski carpet. We characterize, within a certain class of examples, non-self-similar carpets supporting curve families of nontrivial modulus and supporting Poincaré inequalities. Our results yield new examples of compact doubling metric measure spaces supporting Poincaré inequalities: these examples have no manifold points, yet embed isometrically… ▽ More

Quasi-hyperbolic planes in relatively hyperbolic groups
Abstract: We show that any group that is hyperbolic relative to virtually nilpotent subgroups, and does not admit peripheral splittings, contains a quasi-isometrically embedded copy of the hyperbolic plane. In natural situations, the specific embeddings we find remain quasi-isometric embeddings when composed with the inclusion map from the Cayley graph to the coned-off graph, as well as when composed with t… ▽ More

Conformal dimension and random groups
Abstract: We give a lower and an upper bound for the conformal dimension of the boundaries of certain small cancellation groups. We apply these bounds to the few relator and density models for random groups. This gives generic bounds of the following form, where $l$ is the relator length, going to infinity. (a) $1 + 1/C < \Cdim(\bdry G) < C l / \log(l)$, for the few relator model, and (b)… ▽ More

A diagrammatic categorification of the q-Schur algebra
Abstract: In this paper we categorify the q-Schur algebra S(n,d) as a quotient of Khovanov and Lauda's diagrammatic 2-category U(sln). We also show that our 2-category contains Soergel's monoidal category of bimodules of type A, which categorifies the Hecke algebra H(d), as a full sub-2-category if d does not exceed n. For the latter result we use Elias and Khovanov's diagrammatic presentation of Soergel's… ▽ More

Extended graphical calculus for categorified quantum sl(2)
Abstract: A categorification of the Beilinson-Lusztig-MacPherson form of the quantum sl(2) was constructed in the paper arXiv:0803.3652 by the second author. Here we enhance the graphical calculus introduced and developed in that paper to include two-morphisms between divided powers one-morphisms and their compositions. We obtain explicit diagrammatical formulas for the decomposition of products of divided… ▽ More

The diagrammatic Soergel category and sl(N)-foams, for N > 3
Abstract: For each N > 3, we define a monoidal functor from Elias and Khovanov's diagrammatic version of Soergel's category of bimodules to the category of sl(N) foams defined by Mackaay, Stosic and Vaz. We show that through these functors Soergel's category can be obtained from the sl(N) foams.
