Magnitude homology and homotopy type of metric fibrations
Abstract: In this article, we show that each two metric fibrations with a common base and a common fiber have isomorphic magnitude homology, and even more, the same magnitude homotopy type. That can be considered as a generalization of a fact proved by T. Leinster that the magnitude of a metric fibration with finitely many points is a product of those of the base and the fiber. We also show that the definit… ▽ More

The quasi-polynomiality of mod q permutation representation for a linear finite group action on a lattice
Abstract: For given linear action of a finite group on a lattice and a positive integer q, we prove that the mod q permutation representation is a quasi-polynomial in q. Additionally, we establish several results that can be considered as mod q-analogues of results by Stapledon for equivariant Ehrhart quasi-polynomials. A construction of homotopically non-trivial embedded spheres for hyperplane arrangements
Abstract: We introduce the notion of locally consistent system of half-spaces for a real hyperplane arrangement. We embed a sphere in the complexified complement by shifting the real unit sphere into the imaginary direction indicated by the half-spaces. We then prove that the sphere is homotopically trivial if and only if the system of half-spaces is globally consistent. To prove its non-triviality, we comp… ▽ More

The small-scale limit of magnitude and the one-point property
Abstract: The magnitude of a metric space is a real-valued function whose parameter controls the scale of the metric. A metric space is said to have the one-point property if its magnitude converges to 1 as the space is scaled down to a point. Not every finite metric space has the one-point property: to date, exactly one example has been found of a finite space for which the property fails. Understanding th… ▽ More

Minimal stratifications for line arrangements and positive homogeneous presentations for fundamental groups
Abstract: The complement of a complex hyperplane arrangement is known to be homotopic to a minimal CW complex. There are several approaches to the minimality. In this paper, we restrict our attention to real two dimensional cases, and introduce the "dual" objects so called minimal stratifications. The strata are explicitly described as semialgebraic sets. The stratification induces a partition of the comple… ▽ More

Semi-algebraic partition and basis of Borel-Moore homology of hyperplane arrangements
Abstract: We describe an explicit semi-algebraic partition for the complement of a real hyperplane arrangement such that each piece is contractible and so that the pieces form a basis of Borel-Moore homology. We also give an explicit correspondence between the de Rham cohomology and the Borel-Moore homology.

Arrangements, multiderivations, and adjoint quotient map of type ADE
Abstract: The first part of this paper is a survey on algebro-geometric aspects of sheaves of logarithmic vector fields of hyperplane arrangements. In the second part we prove that the relative de Rham cohomology (of degree two) of ADE-type adjoint quotient map is naturally isomorphic to the module of certain multiderivations. The isomorphism is obtained by the Gauss-Manin derivative of the Kostant-Kirillov… ▽ More

On the connectivity of the realization spaces of line arrangements
Abstract: We prove that under certain combinatorial conditions, the realization spaces of line arrangements on the complex projective plane are connected. We also give several examples of arrangements with eight, nine and ten lines which have disconnected realization spaces.

Minimality of hyperplane arrangements and basis of local system cohomology
Abstract: The purpose of this paper is applying minimality of hyperplane arrangements to local system cohomology groups. It is well known that twisted cohomology groups with coefficients in a generic rank one local system vanish except in the top degree, and bounded chambers form a basis of the remaining cohomology group. We determine precisely when this phenomenon happens for two-dimensional arrangements.

Totally free arrangements of hyperplanes
Abstract: A central arrangement $\A$ of hyperplanes in an $\ell$-dimensional vector space $V$ is said to be {\it totally free} if a multiarrangement $(\A, m)$ is free for any multiplicity $ m : \A\to \Z_{> 0}$. It has been known that $\A$ is totally free whenever $\ell \le 2$. In this article, we will prove that there does not exist any totally free arrangement other than the obvious ones, that is, a prod… ▽ More

Periods and elementary real numbers
Abstract: The periods, introduced by Kontsevich and Zagier, form a class of complex numbers which contains all algebraic numbers and several transcendental quantities. Little has been known about qualitative properties of periods. In this paper, we compare the periods with hierarchy of real numbers induced from computational complexities. In particular we prove that periods can be effectively approximated… ▽ More

Logarithmic vector fields along smooth divisors in projective spaces
Abstract: We show that a smooth divisor in a projective space can be reconstructed from the isomorphism class of the sheaf of logarithmic vector fields along it if and only if its defining equation is of Sebastiani-Thom type.
