In a superconductor with a sublattice degree of freedom, we find unconventional Andreev bound states whose charge density oscillates in sign between the two sublattices. The appearance of these oscillating-charged Andreev bound states is characterized by a Zak phase, rather than a conventional topological invariant. In contrast to conventional Andreev bound states, for oscillating-charged Andreev bound states the proportionality between the electron-like spectral function, the local density of states and the tunneling conductance is broken. We examine the possible appearance of these novel Andreev bound states in UTe$_2$ and locally noncentrosymmetric superconductors.

Two electrons in a quantum dot (QD) can form triplet states. We analyze the exchange coupling of the triplet states of the negatively charged exciton in a QD (X$^-$, two electrons and one hole) with the spin of a magnetic atom (Mn). Two techniques are used to access the spin structure of this magnetic complex: the resonant excitation of the excited states of X$^-$-Mn and the analysis of the emission of a negatively charged biexciton in a magnetic dot (XX$^-$-Mn). The photo-luminescence (PL) excitation of X$^-$-Mn reveals excited states with a circularly polarized fine structure which strongly depends on the Mn spin state S$_z$ and gives rise to negative circular polarization emission. This fine structure arises from the coupling of the triplet states of an excited charged exciton with the Mn (X$^{-*}$-Mn) and its S$_z$ dependence can be described by a spin effective model. The recombination of XX$^-$-Mn leaves in the dot a charged exciton in its excited state and the PL structure is controlled by the coupling of triplet states of X$^{-*}$ with the Mn spin. An analysis of the polarization and magneto-optic properties of this emission gives access to the electron-hole exchange interaction within the triplets states. Comparing the fine structure of the singlet X$^-$-Mn and of the triplets of X$^{-*}$-Mn we can independently study the different source of anisotropy in the QD: the valence band mixing and the exchange interaction in an anisotropic potential

We study the (001) surface state of a recently proposed $E_g$ symmetry inter-orbital-odd spin-triplet s-wave superconducting (SC) state in Sr$_2$RuO$_4$ (SRO). We confirm that this pair potential is transformed into a chiral $d$-wave pair potential and a pseudo-Zeeman field in the band basis for a low-energy range. Due to the chiral $d$-wave pair potential, the surface states appear near zero energy in the momentum range enclosed by the nodal lines of the chiral d-wave pair potential for each band at the (001) surface. Nevertheless, the pseudo-Zeeman field gives band splitting of the surface states, and its splitting energy is much smaller than the SC energy gap. The local density of states (LDOS) at the (001) surface of the SC state has a pronounced peak structure at zero energy due to the surface states near zero energy when the order of the resolution is lower than the splitting energy. This peak structure is robust under perturbations, such as an orbital Rashba coupling or an $E_u$ SC pair potential at the surface.

Abstract:
In cuprate superconductors, superconductivity appears below the CDW transition temperature $T_{CDW}$. However, many-body electronic states under the CDW order are still far from understood. In cuprate superconductors, superconductivity appears below the CDW transition temperature $T_{CDW}$. However, many-body electronic states under the CDW order are still far from understood. Here, we study the development of the spin fluctuations under the presence of $d$-wave bond order (BO) with wavevector $q=(π/2,0),(0,π/2)$, which is derived from the paramagnon interference mechanism in recent theoretical studies. Based on the $4 \times 1$ and $4 \times 4$ cluster Hubbard models, the feedback effects between spin susceptibility and self-energy are calculated self-consistently by using the fluctuation-exchange (FLEX) approximation. It is found that the $d$-wave BO leads to a sizable suppression of the nuclear magnetic relaxation rate $1/T_1$. In contrast, the reduction in $T_c$ is small, since the static susceptibility $χ^s(Q_s)$ is affected by the BO just slightly. It is verified that the $d$-wave BO scenario is consistent with the experimental electronic properties below $T_{CDW}$.

Interference of an array of independent Bose-Einstein condensates, whose experiment has been performed recently, is theoretically studied in detail. Even if the number of the atoms in each gas is kept finite and the phases of the gases are not well defined, interference fringes are observed on each snapshot. The statistics of the snapshot interference patterns, i.e., the average fringe amplitudes and their fluctuations (covariance), are computed analytically, and concise formulas for their asymptotic values for long time of flight are derived. Processes contributing to these quantities are clarified and the relationship with the description on the basis of the symmetry-breaking scenario is revealed.
