Abstract:
BM@N (Baryonic Matter at Nuclotron) is the first experiment operating and taking data at the Nuclotron/NICA ion-accelerating complex. The aim of the BM@N experiment is to study interactions of relativistic heavy-ion beams with fixed targets. We present a technical description of the BM@N spectrometer including all its subsystems.

Abstract:
The results of an analysis of the invariant mass spectra of photon pairs produced in dC, pC and dCu interactions at momenta of 2.75, 5.5 and 3.83 GeV/c per nucleon respectively, are presented. Signals in the form of enhanced structures at invariant masses of about 17 and 38 MeV/c2 are observed. The results of testing of the observed signals, including the results of the Monte Carlo simulation are…

The results of testing of the observed signals, including the results of the Monte Carlo simulation are presented. The test results support the conclusion that the observed signals are the consequence of detection of the particles with masses of about 17 and 38 MeV/c2 decaying into a pair of photons.

Abstract:
First physics results of the BM@N experiment at the Nuclotron/NICA complex are presented on π+ and K+ meson production in interactions of an argon beam with fixed targets of C, Al, Cu, Sn and Pb at 3.2 AGeV. Transverse momentum distributions, rapidity spectra and multiplicities of $π^+$ and $K^+$ mesons are measured. The results are compared with predictions of theoretical models and with other me…

The Nuclotron-base Ion Collider fAcility (NICA) is under construction at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR), with commissioning of the facility expected in late 2022. The Multi-Purpose Detector (MPD) has been designed to operate at NICA and its components are currently in production. The detector is expected to be ready for data taking with the first beams from NICA. This document provides an overview of the landscape of the investigation of the QCD phase diagram in the region of maximum baryonic density, where NICA and MPD will be able to provide significant and unique input. It also provides a detailed description of the MPD set-up, including its various subsystems as well as its support and computing infrastructures. Selected performance studies for particular physics measurements at MPD are presented and discussed in the context of existing data and theoretical expectations.

Abstract:
The first results of the search for the E(38)-boson are presented. The search was conducted in the effective mass spectra of photon pairs produced in the d(2.0 GeV/n) + C, d(3.0 GeV/n) + Cu and p(4.6 GeV) + C reactions. The experimental data was obtained at internal beams of the JINR Nuclotron.

The improved Cascade-Exciton Model (CEM) code CEM2k+GEM2 and the Los Alamos version of the Quark-Gluon String Model code LAQGSM are extended to describe photonuclear reactions. First, we incorporate into CEM2k+GEM2 new evaluations of elementary cross sections based on the latest experimental data and also make several improvements in the description of the de-excitation of nuclei remaining after the cascade stage of reactions induced by arbitrary projectiles. Next, for photonuclear reactions we include in CEM2k+GEM2 a normalization to evaluated experimental absorption cross sections based on the recent systematics by Kossov. Then, we extend our high-energy code LAQGSM by adding the photonuclear mode which was ignored in all its previous versions, and add to it the photonuclear part from our improved CEM2k+GEM2. In this work we present a short description of the photonuclear mode as incorporated into our codes, show several illustrative results, and point out some unresolved problems.
