Measurement of the $e^{+}e^{-}\toΣしぐま^{0}\barΣしぐま^{0}$ cross sections at center-of-mass energies from $2.3864$ to $3.0200$ GeV

Abstract: The Born cross sections of $e^{+}e^{-}\to Σしぐま^{0}\barΣしぐま^{0}$ are measured at center-of-mass energies from $2.3864$ to $3.0200$ GeV using data samples with an integrated luminosity of $328.5$ pb$^{-1}$ collected with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII collider. The analysis makes use of a novel reconstruction method for energies near production threshold, while a single-tag method is employed… ▽ More The Born cross sections of $e^{+}e^{-}\to Σしぐま^{0}\barΣしぐま^{0}$ are measured at center-of-mass energies from $2.3864$ to $3.0200$ GeV using data samples with an integrated luminosity of $328.5$ pb$^{-1}$ collected with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII collider. The analysis makes use of a novel reconstruction method for energies near production threshold, while a single-tag method is employed at other center-of-mass energies. The measured cross sections are consistent with earlier results from BaBar, with a substantially improved precision. The cross-section lineshape can be well described by a perturbative QCD-driven energy function. In addition, the effective form factors of the $Σしぐま^{0}$ baryon are determined. Abstract: The cross sections of the process $e^{+}e^{-} \to K_{S}^{0}K_{L}^{0}$ are measured at fifteen center-of-mass energies $\sqrt{s}$ from $2.00$ to $3.08~{\rm GeV}$ with the BESIII detector at the Beijing Electron Positron Collider (BEPCII). The results are found to be consistent with those obtained by BaBar. Abstract: We report a measurement of the observed cross sections of the inclusive $J/ψぷさい$ production in $e^+e^-\rightarrow {J}/ψぷさい{\rm X}$ based on 3.21 fb$^{-1}$ of data accumulated at energies from 3.645 to 3.891 GeV with the BESIII detector operated at the BEPCII collider. The energy-dependent lineshape obtained from the measured cross sections cannot be well described by two Breit-Wigner (BW) amplitudes of… ▽ More We report a measurement of the observed cross sections of the inclusive $J/ψぷさい$ production in $e^+e^-\rightarrow {J}/ψぷさい{\rm X}$ based on 3.21 fb$^{-1}$ of data accumulated at energies from 3.645 to 3.891 GeV with the BESIII detector operated at the BEPCII collider. The energy-dependent lineshape obtained from the measured cross sections cannot be well described by two Breit-Wigner (BW) amplitudes of the expected decays $ψぷさい(3686)\rightarrow {J}/ψぷさい{\rm X}$ and $ψぷさい(3770)\rightarrow {J}/ψぷさい{\rm X}$. Instead it can be better described with three BW amplitudes of the decays $ψぷさい(3686)\rightarrow {J}/ψぷさい{\rm X}$, $R(3760)\rightarrow {J}/ψぷさい{\rm X}$ and $R(3790)\rightarrow {J}/ψぷさい{\rm X}$ with two distinct structures referred to as $R(3760)$ and $R(3790)$. Under this assumption, we extracted their masses, total widths, and the product of the leptonic width and decay branching fractions to be $M_{R(3760)}= {3761.7\pm 2.2 \pm 1.2}$ MeV/$c^2$, $Γがんま^{\rm tot}_{R(3760)}= {6.7\pm 11.1 \pm 1.1}$ MeV, $Γがんま^{ee}_{R(3760)}\mathcal B[R(3760)\rightarrow {J}/ψぷさい{\rm X}]=(4.0\pm 4.3\pm 1.2)$ eV, $M_{R(3790)} = {3784.7\pm 5.7 \pm 1.6}$ MeV/$c^2$, $Γがんま^{\rm tot}_{R(3790)} = {31.6 \pm 11.9 \pm 3.2}$ MeV, $Γがんま^{ee}_{R(3790)}\mathcal B[R(3790)\rightarrow {J}/ψぷさい{\rm X}]=(18.1\pm 10.3\pm 4.7)$ eV, where the first uncertainties are statistical and second systematic. △ Less

Abstract: We report an amplitude analysis and branching fraction measurement of $D_{s}^{+} \rightarrow K^{+}K^{-}πぱい^{+}$ decay using a data sample of 3.19 $\rm fb^{-1}$ recorded with BESIII detector at a center-of-mass energy of 4.178 GeV. We perform a model-independent partial wave analysis in the low $K^{+}K^{-}$ mass region to determine the $K^{+}K^{-}$ S-wave lineshape, followed by an amplitude analysi… ▽ More We report an amplitude analysis and branching fraction measurement of $D_{s}^{+} \rightarrow K^{+}K^{-}πぱい^{+}$ decay using a data sample of 3.19 $\rm fb^{-1}$ recorded with BESIII detector at a center-of-mass energy of 4.178 GeV. We perform a model-independent partial wave analysis in the low $K^{+}K^{-}$ mass region to determine the $K^{+}K^{-}$ S-wave lineshape, followed by an amplitude analysis of our very pure high-statistics sample. An excess over the known contributions of the conventional charmed mesons is observed near the… ▽ More We report a study of the processes of $e^+e^-\to K^+ (D_s^- D^{*0} + D^{*-}_s D^0)$ based on $e^+e^-$ annihilation samples collected with the BESIII detector operating at BEPCII at five center-of-mass energies ranging from 4.628 to 4.698 GeV with a total integrated luminosity of 3.7 fb$^{-1}$. An excess over the known contributions of the conventional charmed mesons is observed near the $D_s^- D^{*0}$ and $D^{*-}_s D^0$ mass thresholds in the $K^{+}$ recoil-mass spectrum for events collected at $\sqrt{s}=4.681$ GeV. The structure matches a mass-dependent-width Breit-Wigner line shape, whose pole mass and width are determined as $(3982.5^{+1.8}_{-2.6}\pm2.1)$ MeV/$c^2$ and $(12.8^{+5.3}_{-4.4}\pm3.0)$ MeV, respectively. The first uncertainties are statistical and the second are systematic. The significance of the resonance hypothesis is estimated to be 5.3 $σしぐま$ over the contributions only from the conventional charmed mesons. This is the first candidate of the charged hidden-charm tetraquark with strangeness, decaying into $D_s^- D^{*0}$ and $D^{*-}_s D^0$. We find significant $ηいーた_{\rm c}$ production in $e^+e^-\rightarrow ηいーた_{\rm c}πぱい^+ πぱい^-πぱい^0$ at $\sqrt{s}$ of 4.23 GeV and 4.26 GeV and observe a significant energy-dependent Born cross section that we measure to be consistent with the production via the intermediate $Y(4260)$ resonance. In addition, we perform a search for a charmonium-like $Z_{\rm c}$ state close to the $D\bar{D}$ threshold that decays to $ηいーた_{\rm c}πぱい$, involving ground state charmonium, and observe no signal. Corresponding upper limits on the cross section of $ηいーた_{\rm c}$ and $Z_{\rm c}$ production are provided, where the yields are not found to be significant. △ Less

Search for New Hadronic Decays of $h_c$ and Observation of $h_c\rightarrow K^{+}K^{-}πぱい^{+}πぱい^{-}πぱい^{0}$

Abstract: Ten hadronic final states of the $h_c$ decays are investigated via the process $ψぷさい(3686)\rightarrow πぱい^0 h_c$, using a data sample of $(448.1 \pm 2.9) \times 10^6$ $ψぷさい(3686)$ events collected with the BESIII detector. The decay channel $h_c\rightarrow K^{+}K^{-}πぱい^{+}πぱい^{-}πぱい^{0}$ is observed for the first time with a significance of $6.0 σしぐま$. The corresponding branching fraction is determined to be… ▽ More Ten hadronic final states of the $h_c$ decays are investigated via the process $ψぷさい(3686)\rightarrow πぱい^0 h_c$, using a data sample of $(448.1 \pm 2.9) \times 10^6$ $ψぷさい(3686)$ events collected with the BESIII detector. The corresponding branching fractions (and upper limits) are obtained to be $\mathcal{B}(h_c\rightarrow πぱい^{+} πぱい^{-} πぱい^{0} ηいーた) =(7.2 \pm 1.8 \pm 1.3)\times 10^{-3}$ $(< 1.8 \times 10^{-2})$ and $\mathcal{B}(h_c\rightarrow K^{0}_{S}K^{\pm}πぱい^{\mp}πぱい^{+}πぱい^{-}) =(2.8 \pm 0.9 \pm 0.5)\times 10^{-3}$ $(<4.7\times 10^{-3})$. Upper limits on the branching fractions for the final states $h_c \rightarrow K^{+}K^{-}πぱい^{0}$, $K^{+}K^{-}ηいーた$, $K^{+}K^{-}πぱい^{+}πぱい^{-}ηいーた$, $2(K^{+}K^{-})πぱい^{0}$, $K^{+}K^{-}πぱい^{0}ηいーた$, $K^{0}_{S}K^{\pm}πぱい^{\mp}$, and $p\bar{p}πぱい^{0}πぱい^{0}$ are determined at a confidence level of 90\%. △ Less

Study of BESIII Trigger Efficiencies with the 2018 $J/ψぷさい$ Data

Abstract: Using a dedicated data sample taken in 2018 on the $J/ψぷさい$ peak, we perform a detailed study of the trigger efficiencies of the BESIII detector. The efficiencies are determined from three representative physics processes, namely Bhabha-scattering, dimuon production and generic hadronic events with charged particles. The statistical significances are $12.9σしぐま$ and $7.7 σしぐま$, respectively. The precision of $\mathcal{B}(D^0 \to ωおめがπぱい^+πぱい^-)$ is improved by a factor of 2.1 over the CLEO measurement, and $\mathcal{B}(D^+ \to ωおめがπぱい^+πぱい^0)$ is measured for the first time. No significant signal of $\mathcal{B}(D^0 \to ωおめがπぱい^0πぱい^0)$ is observed, and the upper limit on the branching fraction is $\mathcal{B}(D^0 \to ωおめがπぱい^0πぱい^0) < 1.10 \times 10^{-3}$ at the $90\%$ confidence level. The branching fractions of $D\to ηいーたπぱいπぱい$ are also measured and consistent with existing results. △ Less

Using these, the charged particle multiplicities are compared with results from MARK I. Further, comparison of the distributions of the number of photons in data with those in Monte Carlo simulation indicates that G-parity conservation should be taken into consideration in the simulation. △ Less

Analysis of the decay $D^0\rightarrow K_{S}^{0} K^{+} K^{-}$

Abstract: Using a data sample of $2.93~fb^{-1}$ of $e^+e^-$ collisions collected at $\sqrt{s}=3.773 GeV$ in the BESIII experiment, we perform an analysis of the decay $D^0\rightarrow K_{S}^{0} K^{+} K^{-}$. The Dalitz plot is analyzed using $1856\pm 45$ flavor-tagged signal decays. The non-zero value of $ΔでるたΦふぁい$ allows for a direct and simultaneous measurement of the decay asymmetry parameters of $Σしぐま^{+}\rightarrow p πぱい^{0}~(αあるふぁ_0 = -0.998\pm0.037\pm0.009)$ and $\barΣしぐま^{-}\rightarrow \bar{p} πぱい^{0}~(\barαあるふぁ_0 = 0.990\pm0.037\pm0.011)$, the latter value being determined for the first time. The average decay asymmetry, $(αあるふぁ_{0} - \barαあるふぁ_{0})/2$, is calculated to be $-0.994\pm0.004\pm0.002$. The CP asymmetry $A_{\rm CP,Σしぐま} = (αあるふぁ_0 + \barαあるふぁ_0)/(αあるふぁ_0 - \barαあるふぁ_0) = -0.004\pm0.037\pm0.010$ is extracted for the first time, and is found to be consistent with CP conservation. △ Less

For the other resonances, we obtain masses of $(4218.7 \pm 4.0 \pm 2.5)$ and $(4380.4 \pm 14.2 \pm 1.8)$ MeV/c$^{2}$ with corresponding widths of $(82.5 \pm 5.9 \pm 0.5)$ and $(147.0 \pm 63.0 \pm 25.8)$ MeV, respectively, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second ones systematic. The measured resonant parameters are consistent with those of the $Y(4220)$ and $Y(4360)$ from pr evious measurements of different final states. Using these parameters, the associated uncertainty on the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa angle $γがんま/φふぁい_3$ is expected to be between $0.7^\circ$ and $1.2^\circ$, for an analysis using the decay $B^{\pm}\rightarrow DK^{\pm}$, $D\rightarrow K^0_Sπぱい^+πぱい^-$, where $D$ represents a superposition of $D^0$ and $\bar{D^0}$ states. This is a factor of three smaller than that achievable with previous measurements. Abstract: We report the most precise measurements to date of the strong-phase parameters between $D^0$ and $\bar{D}^0$ decays to $K^0_{S,L}πぱい^+πぱい^-$ using a sample of 2.93 fb$^{-1}$ of $e^+e^-$ annihilation data collected at a center-of-mass energy of 3.773 GeV with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider. This renaissance has been driven in part by the discovery of a plethora of charmonium-like $XYZ$ states at BESIII and $B$ factories, and the observation of an intriguing proton-antiproton threshold enhancement and the possibly related $X(1835)$ meson state at BESIII, as well as the thre… ▽ More There has recently been a dramatic renewal of interest in the subjects of hadron spectroscopy and charm physics. This renaissance has been driven in part by the discovery of a plethora of charmonium-like $XYZ$ states at BESIII and $B$ factories, and the observation of an intriguing proton-antiproton threshold enhancement and the possibly related $X(1835)$ meson state at BESIII, as well as the threshold measurements of charm mesons and charm baryons. We present a detailed survey of the important topics in tau-charm physics and hadron physics that can be further explored at BESIII over the remaining lifetime of BEPCII operation. Abstract: Using a $3.19~\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$ data sample collected at the $\sqrt{s}~=~4.178$ GeV with the BESIII detector, we search for the rare decay $D_{s}^{+} \rightarrow p \bar{p} e^{+} νにゅー_{e} $. No significant signal is observed, and an upper limit of $\mathcal{B}(D_{s}^{+} \rightarrow p \bar{p} e^{+} νにゅー_{e}) < 2.0 \times 10^{-4}$ is set at the 90\% confidence level. Abstract: Using a total of 11.0 fb$^{-1}$ of $e^{+}e^{-}$ collision data with center-of-mass energies between 4.009 GeV and 4.6 GeV and collected with the BESIII detector at BEPCII, we measure fifteen exclusive cross sections and effective form factors for the process $e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrowΞくしー^{-}\barΞくしー^{+}$ by means of a single baryon-tag method. In addition, an excited $Ξくしー$ baryon at 1820 MeV/$c^{2}$ is observed with a statistical significance of 6.2 $\sim$ 6.5$σしぐま$ by including the systematic uncertainty, and the mass and width are measured to be $M = (1825.5 \pm 4.7 \pm 4.7)$~MeV/$c^{2}$ and $Γがんま= (17.0 \pm 15.0 \pm 7.9)$~MeV, which confirms the existence of the $J^{P}=\frac{3}{2}^{-}$ state $Ξくしー(1820)$. △ Less

The mass and width of the… ▽ More We report a study of the $e^{+}e^{-} \to D^{+} D^{-} πぱい^{+} πぱい^{-}$ process using $e^{+}e^{-}$ collision data samples with an integrated luminosity of $2.5\,\rm{fb}^{-1}$ at center-of-mass energies from 4.36 to $4.60 \rm{GeV}$, collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII storage ring. The $D_{1}(2420)^+$ is observed in the $D^{+} πぱい^{+} πぱい^{-}$ mass spectrum. The mass and width of the $D_{1}(2420)^+$ are measured to be $(2427.2\pm 1.0_{\rm stat.}\pm 1.2_{\rm syst.}) \rm{MeV}/c^2$ and $(23.2\pm 2.3_{\rm stat.} \pm2.3_{\rm syst.}) \rm{MeV}$, respectively. The first errors are statistical and the second ones are systematic. In addition, the Born cross sections of the $e^{+}e^{-} \to D_{1}(2420)^+D^- + c.c. \to D^{+} D^{-} πぱい^{+} πぱい^{-}$ and $e^{+}e^{-} \to ψぷさい(3770) πぱい^{+} πぱい^{-} \to D^{+} D^{-} πぱい^{+} πぱい^{-}$ processes are measured as a function of the center-of-mass energy. △ Less

Observation of the leptonic decay $D^+ \to τたう^+ νにゅー_τたう$

Abstract: We report the first observation of $D^+\toτたう^+νにゅー_τたう$ with a significance of $5.1σしぐま$. We measure ${\cal B}(D^+\toτたう^+νにゅー_τたう) = (1.20\pm0.24_{\text{stat.}}\pm0.12_{\text{syst.}})\times10^{-3}$. Taking the world average ${\cal B}(D^+\toμみゅー^+νにゅー_μみゅー) = (3.74\pm0.17)\times10^{-4}$, we obtain $R_{τたう/μみゅー} =Γがんま(D^+\toτたう^+νにゅー_τたう)/Γがんま(D^+\toμみゅー^+νにゅー_μみゅー) = 3.21\pm0.64_{\text{stat.}}\pm0.43_{\text{syst.}}$, which is consistent with the St… ▽ More We report the first observation of $D^+\toτたう^+νにゅー_τたう$ with a significance of $5.1σしぐま$. Abstract: By analyzing 2.93 fb$^{-1}$ of $e^+e^-$ annihilation data taken at the center-of-mass energy $\sqrt s=$ 3.773 GeV with the BESIII detector, we determine the branching fractions of the inclusive decays $D^+\toφふぁいX$ and $D^0\toφふぁいX$ to be $(1.135\pm0.034\pm0.031)\%$ and $(1.091\pm0.027\pm0.035)\%$, respectively, where $X$ denotes any possible particle combination. The angular distribution parameter for $ψぷさい(3686)\rightarrowΞくしー(1530)^{-}\barΞくしー(1530)^{+}$ is determined to be $αあるふぁ$ = 0.40 $\pm$ 0.24 $\pm$ 0.06, which agrees with the theoretical predictions within 1$σしぐま$.
