Proton decay, although unobserved so far, is a natural expectation when attempting to explain the baryon asymmetry of the universe. $p\to K^+\barν$ or $p\to K^+\tildeχ_1^0$, with $\tildeχ_1^0$ a light exotic neutral particle, represent possible decay channels achievable in models of physics beyond the Standard Model, such as the MSSM with trilinear R-parity-violating terms, or the Standard Model extended by a heavy neutral lepton. Among the decay products of these modes, the neutral fermions would typically appear as missing energy in collider searches. The present study considers how such decay modes could be differentiated in experimental settings, as the exotic $\tildeχ_1^0$ may further decay if it is not protected by a symmetry (such as R-parity in the MSSM). We assess the detection prospects of the proposed experiments DUNE, JUNO and Hyper-K in this context.

A series of far-detector programs have been proposed for operation at various interaction points of the Large Hadron Collider during the upcoming runs. Investigating the potential and complementarity of these experiments for new-physics searches goes through the estimation of their sensitivity to specific long-lived particle models. Here, we present an integrated numerical tool written in the C++ language and called Displaced Decay Counter, which we have created to this end and which can be used in association with MadGraph5, Pythia8, or any other state-of-the-art Monte-Carlo collider simulation tool. Several far-detector models have been implemented within the program, accounting for the geometry and integrated luminosity of projected detectors. Additional or more accurate designs can be easily constructed through a dedicated interface. The functionality of this tool is exemplified through the discussion of three benchmark scenarios, which we consider for the validation of the implemented detector models.

We study regions in the parameter space of the NMSSM which are able to simultaneously explain the current measured values for the $W$ mass $M_W$ and the muon anomalous magnetic moment $a_μ$, and provide a dark matter relic density consistent with the observations as well as constraints from detection experiments. The corresponding regions feature light charginos, sleptons and staus in the 100-800~GeV range, at least some of them with masses below 150~GeV such that the electroweakly-interacting SUSY particles generate sufficiently large contributions to $M_W$. The LSP is always singlino-like with a mass below 140~GeV, and could possibly remain invisible even at future detection experiments. Decays of electroweak sparticles proceed through cascades via staus and/or sleptons which makes their detection challenging. We propose benchmark points for future searches of such sparticles. The lightest CP-even scalar may have a mass in the 95-98~GeV range with, however, modest signal rates in view of the mild excesses reported in this range at LEP and by CMS at the LHC.

The heavy, doublet-dominated Higgs bosons expected in Two-Higgs-Doublet-Model-like extensions of the Standard Model are obvious targets for searches at high-energy colliders, and considerable activity in this sense is currently employed in analyzing the results of the Large Hadron Collider. For sufficiently heavy states, the $SU(2)_{\mathrm{L}}$ symmetry drastically constrains the decays of these new scalars. In models that contain only additional Higgs doublets, fermionic decay channels are expected to dominate, although some bosonic modes may lead to cleaner signals. The situation is very different if the Higgs sector is further extended by singlet states and the singlet-dominated scalars are kinematically accessible, in which case the Higgs-to-Higgs widths may even become dominant. Yet, a quantitative interpretation of the experimental data in terms of a specific model also runs through the control of radiative corrections in this model. In this paper, we examine the bosonic decays of the heavy, doublet-dominated Higgs states in the MSSM and the NMSSM at full one-loop order, insisting on the impact of the $SU(2)_{\mathrm{L}}$ symmetry and the effects of infrared type, in particular, the emergence of sizable non-resonant contributions to the three-boson final states.

We study the phenomenology associated with a light bino-like neutralino with mass under the tau mass in the context of the R-parity violating Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model. This is a well-motivated example of scenarios producing potentially light and long-lived exotic particles, which might be testable in far-detector experiments, such as the FASER experiment at the Large Hadron Collider. A quantitative assessment of the discovery potential or the extraction of limits run through a detailed understanding of the interactions of the light exotic fermion with Standard Model matter, in particular, the hadronic sector. Here, we propose a systematic analysis of the decays of such a particle and proceed to a model-independent derivation of the low-energy effects, so that this formalism may be transposed to other UV-completions or even stand as an independent effective field theory. We then stress the diversity of the possible phenomenology and more specifically discuss the features associated with the R-parity violating supersymmetric framework, for example neutron-antineutron oscillations.

Models with an extended Higgs sector open up the phenomenological possibility of additional scalars, beyond the SM-like boson observed by the LHC, with mass at or below the electroweak scale. Such scenarios are in particular viable in the presence of electroweak-singlet spin-0 fields, as expected for instance in the context of the NMSSM. Given that the size of radiative corrections can substantially affect the Higgs potential, a negative squared mass at the tree level does not necessarily yield a tachyonic spectrum at the physical level, but only indicates a failure of the tree-level description for calculational purposes. We explain how to tackle this technical issue in the example of the NMSSM, in scenarios with light CP-odd or CP-even singlet-dominated states and show how loop corrections to the Higgs masses and decay widths can be derived with the regularized Lagrangian. We further explore how the same flexibility in the definition of tree-level parameters can be exploited to circumvent large deviations of the tree-level spectrum from the kinematical setup in Higgs decays, or to estimate the theoretical uncertainty associated with the discrepancy between tree-level and physical Higgs spectra. The latter is of particular relevance for the properties of the SM-like Higgs boson in supersymmetry-inspired models.

The connection between gauge and Higgs sectors makes supersymmetric extensions of the Standard Model predictive frameworks for the derivation of Higgs masses. In this paper, we study the contamination of such predictions by field-renormalization constants, in the MSSM with two-loop gaugeless corrections of $\mathcal{O}{\left(α_{t,b}\,α_s,\,α_{t,b}^2\right)}$ and full momentum dependence, and demonstrate how strict perturbative expansions allow to systematically neutralize the dependence on such unphysical objects. On the other hand, the popular procedure consisting in an iterative pole search remains explicitly dependent on field counterterms. We then analyze the magnitude of the intrinsic uncertainty that this feature implies for the iterative method, both in non-degenerate and near-degenerate regimes, and conclude that this strategy does not improve on the predictions of the more straightforward expansion. We also discuss several features related to the inclusion of the orders $α_{t,b}\,α_s$ and $α_{t,b}^2$ in the so-called 'fixed-order' approach, such as the resummation of UV-logarithms for heavy supersymmetric spectra.

Predictions for the Higgs masses are a distinctive feature of supersymmetric extensions of the Standard Model, where they play a crucial role in constraining the parameter space. The discovery of a Higgs boson and the remarkably precise measurement of its mass at the LHC have spurred new efforts aimed at improving the accuracy of the theoretical predictions for the Higgs masses in supersymmetric models. The "Precision SUSY Higgs Mass Calculation Initiative" (KUTS) was launched in 2014 to provide a forum for discussions between the different groups involved in these efforts. This report aims to present a comprehensive overview of the current status of Higgs-mass calculations in supersymmetric models, to document the many advances that were achieved in recent years and were discussed during the KUTS meetings, and to outline the prospects for future improvements in these calculations.

In models with an extended Higgs sector, such as the (N)MSSM, scalar states mix with one another. Yet, the concept of Higgs mixing is problematic at the radiative level, since it introduces both a scheme and a gauge dependence. In particular, the definition of Higgs masses and decay amplitudes can be impaired by the presence of gauge-violating pieces of higher order. We discuss in depth the origin and magnitude of such effects and suggest two strategies preserving or restoring gauge invariance. In addition, the intuitive concept of mixing and the simplicity of its definition in terms of two-point diagrams can make it tempting to include higher-order corrections on this side of the calculation, irrespectively of the order achieved in vertex diagrams. Using the global $SU(2)_{\mathrm{L}}$-symmetry in the decoupling limit, we show that no improvement can be expected from such an approach at the level of the Higgs decays, but that, on the contrary, the higher-order terms may lead to numerically large spurious effects.

Extensions of the Standard Model often come with additional, possibly electroweakly charged Higgs states, the prototypal example being the Two-Higgs-Doublet Model. While collider phenomenology does not exclude the possibility for some of these new scalar fields to be light, it is relatively natural to consider masses in the multi-TeV range, in which case the only remaining light Higgs boson automatically receives SM-like properties. The appearance of a hierarchy between the new-physics states and the electroweak scale then leads to sizable electroweak corrections, e. g. in the decays of the heavy Higgs bosons, which are dominated by effects of infrared type, namely Sudakov logarithms. Such radiative contributions obviously affect the two-body decays, but should also be paired with the radiation of electroweak gauge bosons (or lighter Higgs bosons) for a consistent picture at the one-loop order. Resummation of the leading terms is also relatively easy to achieve. We re-visit these questions in the specific case of the fermionic decays of heavy Higgs particles in the Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model, in particular pointing out the consequences of the three-body final states for the branching ratios of the heavy scalars.

The Future Circular Collider (FCC) at CERN, a proposed 100-km circular facility with several colliders in succession, culminates with a 100 TeV proton-proton collider. It offers a vast new domain of exploration in particle physics, with orders of magnitude advances in terms of Precision, Sensitivity and Energy. The implementation plan foresees, as a first step, an Electroweak Factory electron-positron collider. This high luminosity facility, operating between 90 and 365 GeV centre-of-mass energy, will study the heavy particles of the Standard Model, Z, W, Higgs, and top with unprecedented accuracy. The Electroweak Factory $e^+e^-$ collider constitutes a real challenge to the theory and to precision calculations, triggering the need for the development of new mathematical methods and software tools. A first workshop in 2018 had focused on the first FCC-ee stage, the Tera-Z, and confronted the theoretical status of precision Standard Model calculations on the Z-boson resonance to the experimental demands. The second workshop in January 2019, which is reported here, extended the scope to the next stages, with the production of W-bosons (FCC-ee-W), the Higgs boson (FCC-ee-H) and top quarks (FCC-ee-tt). In particular, the theoretical precision in the determination of the crucial input parameters, alpha_QED, alpha_QCD, M_W, m_t at the level of FCC-ee requirements is thoroughly discussed. The requirements on Standard Model theory calculations were spelled out, so as to meet the demanding accuracy of the FCC-ee experimental potential. The discussion of innovative methods and tools for multi-loop calculations was deepened. Furthermore, phenomenological analyses beyond the Standard Model were discussed, in particular the effective theory approaches. The reports of 2018 and 2019 serve as white papers of the workshop results and subsequent developments.

To this end, we consider several scenarios characterizing specific features of the NMSSM electroweakino sector. We then perform a detailed collider study, generating Monte-Carlo events through Pythia and testing against current LHC constraints implemented in the public tool CheckMATE. We find e.g. that SUSY decay chains involving intermediate singlino or Higgs-singlet states can modify the naive MSSM-like picture of the constraints by inducing final-states with softer or less-easily identifiable SM particles -- reversely, a compressed configuration with singlino NLSP occasionally induces final states that are rich with photons, which could provide complementary search channels.

The Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (NMSSM) offers a rich framework embedding physics beyond the Standard Model as well as consistent interpretations of the results about the Higgs signal detected at the LHC. We investigate the decays of neutral Higgs states into Standard Model (SM) fermions and gauge bosons. We perform full one-loop calculations of the decay widths and include leading higher-order QCD corrections. We first discuss the technical aspects of our approach, before confronting our predictions to those of existing public tools, performing a numerical analysis and discussing the remaining theoretical uncertainties. In particular, we find that the decay widths of doublet-dominated heavy Higgs bosons into electroweak gauge bosons are dominated by the radiative corrections, so that the tree-level approximations that are often employed in phenomenological analyses fail. Finally, we focus on the phenomenological properties of a mostly singlet-like state with a mass below the one at $125\,$GeV, a scenario that appears commonly within the NMSSM. In fact, the possible existence of a singlet-dominated state in the mass range around or just below $100\,$GeV would have interesting phenomenological implications. Such a scenario could provide an interpretation for both the $2.3σ$ local excess observed at LEP in the $e^+e^-\to Z(H\to b\bar{b})$ searches at $\sim 98\,$GeV and for the local excess in the diphoton searches recently reported by CMS in this mass range, while at the same time it would reduce the "Little Hierarchy" problem.

The Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard model (NMSSM) appears as an interesting candidate for the interpretation of the Higgs-measurement at the LHC and as a rich framework embedding physics beyond the Standard Model. We consider the renormalization of the Higgs sector of this model in its $\mathcal{CP}$-violating version, and propose a renormalization scheme for the calculation of on-shell Higgs masses. Moreover, the connection between the physical states and the tree-level ones is no longer trivial at the radiative level: a proper description of the corresponding transition thus proves necessary in order to calculate Higgs production and decays at a consistent loop order. After discussing these formal aspects, we compare the results of our mass calculation to the output of existing tools. We also study the relevance of the on-shell transition-matrix in the example of the $h_i \to τ^+ τ^-$ width. We find deviations between our full prescription and popular approximations that can exceed $10\%$.

A popular regime in the NMSSM parameter space involves a light CP-odd Higgs $A_1$. This scenario has consequences for e.g. light singlino Dark Matter annihilating in the $A_1$-funnel. In order to confront the pseudoscalar to experimental limits such as flavour observables, Upsilon decays or Beam-Dump experiments, it is necessary to control the interactions of this particle with hadronic matter and derive the corresponding decays. The partonic description cannot be relied upon for masses close to $m_{A_1}\sim1$GeV and we employ a chiral lagrangian, then extended to a spectator model for somewhat larger masses, to describe the interplay of the CP-odd Higgs with hadrons. Interestingly, a mixing can develop between $A_1$ and neutral pseudoscalar mesons, leading to substantial hadronic decays and a coupling of $A_1$ to the chiral anomaly. Additionally, quartic $A_1$-meson couplings induce tri-meson decays of the Higgs pseudoscalar. We investigate these effects and propose an estimate of the Higgs widths for masses below $m_{A_1}\leq3$GeV. While we focus on the case of the NMSSM, our results are applicable to a large class of models.

We propose an NMSSM scenario that can explain the excess in the diphoton spectrum at 750 GeV recently observed by ATLAS and CMS. We show that in a certain limit with a very light pseudoscalar one can reproduce the experimental results without invoking exotic matter. The 750 GeV excess is produced by two resonant heavy Higgs bosons with masses ~750 GeV, that subsequently decay to two light pseudoscalars. Each of these decays to collimated photon pairs that appear as a single photon in the electromagnetic calorimeter. A mass gap between heavy Higgses mimics a large width of the 750 GeV peak. The production mechanism, containing a strong component via initial b quarks, ameliorates a possible tension with 8 TeV data compared to other production modes. We also discuss other constraints, in particular from low energy experiments. Finally, we discuss possible methods that could distinguish our proposal from other physics models describing the diphoton excess in the Run-II of the LHC.

We consider the impact of several flavour-changing observables in the $B$- and the Kaon sectors on the parameter space of the NMSSM, in a minimal flavour violating version of this model. Our purpose consists in updating our previous results in arXiv:0710.3714 and designing an up-to-date flavour test for the public package NMSSMTools. We provide details concerning our implementation of the constraints in a series of brief reviews of the current status of the considered channels. Finally, we present a few consequences of these flavour constraints for the NMSSM, turning to two specific scenarios: one is characteristic of the MSSM-limit and illustrates the workings of charged-Higgs and genuinely supersymmetric contributions to flavour-changing processes; the second focus is a region where a light CP-odd Higgs is present. Strong limits are found whenever an enhancement factor - large $\tanβ$, light $H^{\pm}$, resonant pseudoscalar - comes into play.

While the properties of the signal that was discovered in the Higgs searches at the LHC are consistent so far with the Higgs boson of the Standard Model (SM), it is crucial to investigate to what extent other interpretations that may correspond to very different underlying physics are compatible with the current results. We use the Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (NMSSM) as a well-motivated theoretical framework with a sufficiently rich Higgs phenomenology to address this question, making use of the public tools HiggsBounds and HiggsSignals in order to take into account comprehensive experimental information on both the observed signal and on the existing limits from Higgs searches at LEP, the TeVatron and the LHC. We find that besides the decoupling limit resulting in a single light state with SM-like properties, several other configurations involving states lighter or quasi-degenerate with the one at about 125 GeV turn out to give a competitive fit to the Higgs data and other existing constraints. We discuss the phenomenology and possible future experimental tests of those scenarios, and compare the features of specific scenarios chosen as examples with those arising from a more global fit.

Supersymmetric extensions of the Standard Model open up the possibility for new types of CP-violation. We consider the case of the Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model where, beyond the phases from the soft lagrangian, CP-violation could enter the Higgs sector directly at tree-level through complex parameters in the superpotential. We develop a series of Fortran subroutines, cast within the public tool NMSSMTools and allowing for a phenomenological analysis of the CP-violating NMSSM. This new tool performs the computation of the masses and couplings of the various new physics states in this model: leading corrections to the sparticle masses are included; the precision for the Higgs masses and couplings reaches the full one-loop and leading two-loop order. The two-body Higgs and top decays are also attended. We use the public tools HiggsBounds and HiggsSignals to test the Higgs sector. Additional subroutines check the viability of the sparticle spectrum in view of LEP-limits and constrain the phases of the model via a confrontation to the experimentally measured Electric Dipole Moments. These tools will be made publicly available in the near future. In this paper, we detail the workings of our code and illustrate its use via a comparison with existing results. We also consider some consequences of CP-violation for the NMSSM Higgs sector.

The hidden vector fields can play the role of dark matter whose characteristic signature would be monochromatic gamma ray emission from the galactic center. We show that this possibility is consistent with the LHC and other laboratory constraints, as well as astrophysical bounds.

We consider the most general CP-conserving renormalizable effective scalar potential involving two doublets plus one singlet Higgs and satisfying the electroweak gauge symmetry. After deriving the electroweak-symmetry breaking conditions, we focus on special cases, characterized by specific symmetry properties and/or relations to supersymmetry-inspired extensions of the Standard Model (e.g. n/NMSSM, UMSSM). We then investigate the question of the reconstruction of the potential parameters from the Higgs masses and mixing angles and show that in some specific cases, such as the one of an underlying NMSSM, an accuracy at the order of leading-logarithms is achievable with minimal effort. We finally study a few phenomenological consequences for this latter model. More specifically, we consider how our parameter reconstruction modifies the outcome of two publicly available codes : micrOMEGAs and NMSSMTools. We observed noteworthy effects in regions of parameter space where Higgs-to-Higgs decays are relevant, impacting the collider searches for light Higgs states and the prediction of the Dark-Matter relic density.

Tight constraints on this scenario in the form of lower bounds on M_H have recently been published by the ALEPH group. We show that, due to A - eta_b mixing, the branching ratio H -> AA -> 4 tau is strongly reduced for M_A in the range 9 - 10.5 GeV. This is the range of M_A in which the tension between the observed eta_b(1S) mass and its prediction based on QCD can be resolved due to mixing, and which is thus still consistent with a light CP-even Higgs boson H satisfying LEP constraints with a mass well below 114 GeV. This result is practically independent from the coupling of A to b quarks.

We discuss a generalization of the minimal supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model in the form of three additional singlet superfields, which would explain the essential features of the CDF multi-muon events presented recently: a large production cross section of ~ 100 pb originates from the production of a CP-odd scalar A with a mass in the 70 - 80 GeV range and a large value of tan(beta) ~ 40. The CP-odd scalar A decays dominantly into CP-odd and CP-even scalars a_1 and h_1, which generate decay cascades h_1 -> 2 h_2 -> 4 a_2 -> 8 tau-leptons, and a_1 -> h_1 a_2 with h_1 decaying as above. The decay a_2 -> tau+ tau- is slow, leading to a lifetime of O(20) ps. The phenomenology of the model differs from similar scenarios presented before in that one of the two cascades leads to 10 instead of 8 tau-leptons, and additional production processes like associate A production with b b-bar pairs are relevant.

Recent constraints from CLEO on radiative Upsilon(1S) decays are translated into constraints on the parameter space of CP-odd Higgs boson masses and couplings, and compared to constraints from B physics and the muon anomalous magnetic moment. Possible Higgs - eta_b(nS) mixing effects are discussed, notably in the light of the recent measurement of the eta_b(1S) mass by Babar: The somewhat large Upsilon(1S) - eta_b(1S) hyperfine splitting could easily be explained by the presence of a CP-odd Higgs boson with a mass in the range 9.4 - 10.5 GeV. Then, tests of lepton universality in inclusive radiative Upsilon decays can provide a visible signal in forthcoming experimental data.
