We study the twisted (co)homology of a family of genus-one integrals -- the so called Riemann-Wirtinger integrals. These integrals are closely related to one-loop string amplitudes in chiral splitting where one leaves the loop-momentum, modulus and all but one puncture un-integrated. While not actual one-loop string integrals, they share many properties and are simple enough that the associated twisted (co)homologies have been completely characterized [Goto2022,arXiv:2206.03177]. Using intersection numbers -- an inner product on the vector space of allowed differential forms -- we derive the Gauss-Manin connection for two bases of the twisted cohomology providing an independent check of [Mano&Watanabe2012]. We also use the intersection index -- an inner product on the vector space of allowed contours -- to derive a double-copy formula for the closed-string analogues of Riemann-Wirtinger integrals (one-dimensional integrals over the torus). Similar to the celebrated KLT formula between open- and closed-string tree-level amplitudes, these intersection indices form a genus-one KLT-like kernel defining bilinears in meromorphic Riemann-Wirtinger integrals that are equal to their complex counterparts.

Abstract:
We introduce a new Lie-algebraic approach to explicitly construct the motivic coaction and single-valued map of multiple polylogarithms in any number of variables. In both cases, the appearance of multiple zeta values is controlled by conjugating generating series of polylogarithms with Lie-algebra generators associated with odd zeta values. In both cases, the appearance of multiple zeta values is controlled by conjugating generating series of polylogarithms with Lie-algebra generators associated with odd zeta values. Our reformulation of earlier constructions of coactions and single-valued polylogarithms preserves choices of fibration bases, exposes the correlation between multiple zeta values of different depths and paves the way for generalizations beyond genus zero.

One-loop scattering amplitudes in string theories involve configuration-space integrals over genus-one surfaces with coefficients of Kronecker-Eisenstein series in the integrand. A conjectural genus-one basis of integrands under Fay identities and integration by parts was recently constructed out of chains of Kronecker-Eisenstein series. In this work, we decompose a variety of more general genus-one integrands into the conjectural chain basis. The explicit form of the expansion coefficients is worked out for infinite families of cases where the Kronecker-Eisenstein series form cycles. Our results can be used to simplify multiparticle amplitudes in supersymmetric, heterotic and bosonic string theories and to investigate loop-level echoes of the field-theory double-copy structures of string tree-level amplitudes. The multitude of basis reductions in this work strongly validate the recently proposed chain basis and stimulate mathematical follow-up studies of more general configuration-space integrals with additional marked points or at higher genus.

We study integrals appearing in intermediate steps of one-loop open-string amplitudes, with multiple unintegrated punctures on the $A$-cycle of a torus. We construct a vector of such integrals which closes after taking a total differential with respect to the $N$ unintegrated punctures and the modular parameter $τ$. These integrals are found to satisfy the elliptic Knizhnik-Zamolodchikov-Bernard (KZB) equations, and can be written as a power series in $α$' -- the string length squared -- in terms of elliptic multiple polylogarithms (eMPLs). In the $N$-puncture case, the KZB equation reveals a representation of $B_{1,N}$, the braid group of $N$ strands on a torus, acting on its solutions. We write the simplest of these braid group elements -- the braiding one puncture around another -- and obtain generating functions of analytic continuations of eMPLs. The KZB equations in the so-called universal case is written in terms of the genus-one Drinfeld-Kohno algebra $\mathfrak{t}_{1,N} \rtimes \mathfrak{d}$, a graded algebra. Our construction determines matrix representations of various dimensions for several generators of this algebra which respect its grading up to commuting terms.

In this work, we study inflation in a particular scalar-vector-tensor theory of gravitation without the $U(1)$ gauge symmetry. The model is constructed from the more general action introduced in Heisenberg et al. (Phys Rev D 98:024038, 2018) using certain specific choices for the Lagrangians and the coupling functions. Also, for this model we build the explicit form for the action, and from it, we derive the general equations: the energy-momentum tensor and the equations of motion, and using the flat FLRW background, we have analyzed if it's possible to obtain an inflationary regime with it. Additionally, using particular choices for the potential, the coupling functions, suitable dimensionless coupling constants and initial conditions, it was possible verify numerically that this model of inflation is viable. In this sense, we could verify that the introduction of the coupling function $f(φ)$ in our model of inflation, allows us to reach a suitable amount of $e$-foldings $N$ for sufficient inflation. This is a remarkable result, since without the coupling function contribution, the amount of $e$-foldings is smaller at the end of inflation, as has been demonstrated in Heisenberg et al. (2018). Also, the no-ghosts and stability conditions that the model during inflation must satisfy, i.e., absence of ghosts and Laplacian instabilities of linear cosmological perturbations were obtained, furthermore these conditions were verified numerically too.

We investigate configuration-space integrals over punctured Riemann spheres from the viewpoint of the motivic Galois coaction and double-copy structures generalizing the Kawai-Lewellen-Tye (KLT) relations in string theory. For this purpose, explicit bases of twisted cycles and cocycles are worked out whose orthonormality simplifies the coaction. We present methods to efficiently perform and organize the expansions of configuration-space integrals in the inverse string tension $α'$ or the dimensional-regularization parameter $ε$ of Feynman integrals. Generating-function techniques open up a new perspective on the coaction of multiple polylogarithms in any number of variables and analytic continuations in the unintegrated punctures. We present a compact recursion for a generalized KLT kernel and discuss its origin from intersection numbers of Stasheff polytopes and its implications for correlation functions of two-dimensional conformal field theories. We find a non-trivial example of correlation functions in $(\mathfrak{p},2)$ minimal models, which can be normalized to become uniformly transcendental in the $\mathfrak{p} \to \infty$ limit.

Vacuum fluctuation effects due to an Abelian gauge field in 2+1 dimensions, in the presence of moving mirrors

Abstract:
We study the Dynamical Casimir Effect (DCE) due to an Abelian gauge field in 2+1 dimensions, in the presence of semitransparent, zero-width mirrors, which may move or deform in a time-dependent way. We obtain general expressions for the probability of motion-induced pair creation, which we render in a more explicit form, for some relevant states of motion.
