Abstract:
The structure of 106Pd, populated in the EC/beta+ decay of 106Ag, was investigated at the INFN Legnaro National Laboratories using the Spes Low-energy Internal Conversion Electron Spectrometer (SLICES). The K-internal conversion coefficients of some transitions have been measured and the electric monopole transition strengths, between low-lying 2+ and 0+ states, have been deduced. These experiment…

These experimental data combined with the results from internal conversion electron measurement on 104Pd previously performed by the Florence spectroscopy group were compared with the theoretical values calculated in the framework of the interacting proton-neutron boson model. Good agreement between experimental and theoretical values is found when interpreting the 0+3 level as an intruder state.

We present recent results on the structure of the one-valence-particle $^{41}$Ca and $^{49}$Ca, and one-valence-hole $^{47}$Ca, nuclei. The isotopes of interest were populated via the cold-neutron capture reactions $^{40}$Ca(n,$γ$), $^{48}$Ca(n,$γ$) and $^{46}$Ca(n,$γ$), respectively. The experiments were performed at the Institut Laue-Langevin, within the EXILL campaign, which employed a large array of HPGe detectors. The $γ$ decay and level schemes of these nuclei were investigated by $γ$-ray coincidence relationships, leading to the identification of 41, 10, and 6 new transitions in $^{41}$Ca, $^{47}$Ca, and $^{49}$Ca, respectively. Branching ratios and intensities were extracted for the $γ$ decay from each state, and $γ$-ray angular correlations were performed to establish a number of transition multipolarities and mixing ratios, thus helping in the spin assignment of the states. The experimental findings are discussed along with microscopic, self-consistent beyond-mean-field calculations performed with the Hybrid Configuration Mixing model, based on a Skyrme SkX Hamiltonian. The latter suggests that a fraction of the low-spin states of the $^{41}$Ca, $^{49}$Ca, and $^{47}$Ca nuclei is characterized by the coexistence of either 2p-1h and 1p-2h excitations, or couplings between single-particle/hole degrees of freedom and collective vibrations (phonons) of the doubly-magic "core".

Isomeric states in $^{128}$In and $^{130}$In have been studied with the JYFLTRAP Penning trap at the IGISOL facility. By employing novel ion manipulation techniques, different states were separated and masses of six beta-decaying states were measured. JYFLTRAP was also used to select the ions of interest for identification at a post-trap decay spectroscopy station. A new beta-decaying high-spin isomer feeding the $15^-$ isomer in $^{128}$Sn has been discovered in $^{128}$In at $1797.6(20)$ keV. Shell-model calculations employing a CD-Bonn potential re-normalized with the perturbative G-matrix approach suggest this new isomer to be a $16^+$ spin-trap isomer. In $^{130}$In, the lowest-lying $(10^-)$ isomeric state at $58.6(82)$ keV was resolved for the first time using the phase-imaging ion cyclotron resonance technique. The energy difference between the $10^-$ and $1^-$ states in $^{130}$In, stemming from parallel/antiparallel coupling of $(π0g_{9/2}^{-1})\otimes(ν0h_{11/2}^{-1})$, has been found to be around 200 keV lower than predicted by the shell model. Precise information on the energies of the excited states determined in this work is crucial for producing new improved effective interactions for the nuclear shell model description of nuclei near $^{132}$Sn.
