I am an immigrant, a small business owner, a community leader, as well as a husband & father. I serve on the boards of CivicLex, Human Rights Commission, LexArts, & The Kentucky Equal Justice Center & I am the creator of civic engagement projects such as "I Am A Kentuckian" and "Immigrants & Refugees Belong Here." I have lived in Lexington for most of my life and I want to work to see it grow sustainably & equitably so it can continue to be an amazing city for everyone.

  • Let's invest in housing that people can afford by supporting & investing in smart, sustainable infill development to create the foundation for a better life.
  • Let’s invest in starting & growing small businesses through increasing access to capital, networks, & resources to ensure that our local entrepreneurs not only survive, but thrive.
  • Let’s invest in collaborative, thoughtful public safety by partnering with wraparound services to make Lexington safer for everyone.

I am most passionate about housing/development, small business support, and public safety, as well as environmental sustainability and a just and equitable Lexington for all its residents.

City Council is the legislative body of Lexington Fayette Urban County Government & serves as a check on the office of the Mayor.

Yuri Kochiyama & Grace Lee Boggs for their work & allyship in the civil rights movement. My mom for immigrating to America & surviving so I could eventually thrive.

The ability to represent the underrepresented, the empathy to put yourself in others' shoes, the humility to know that you don't have all the answers.

I'm a lifelong learner, a quick study, an empathetic listener, and a pragmatic problem solver.

To serve the residents of this city & make it a great place to thrive for ALL its people.

I'd to leave Lexington more prosperous, culturally diverse, and equitable than I found it.

I remember watching the Space Shuttle Challenge explosion on live TV during school when I was 12.

I worked at Kroger bagging groceries for about a year when I was 15 or 16.

Yotam Ottolenghi's SIMPLE, it's a cookbook I use every week.

People often contact their district Council Members with issues but forget that they have 3 at-large Council Members that also serve them.

If that were the case, we'd have a very narrow range of views, experiences, & backgrounds to draw our public officials from and that wouldn't serve our increasingly diverse populations well.

Willingness to listen, learn & work with others. Intellectual curiosity to continuing expand ones knowledge about better ways to serve our residents.
