Job Chides His Accusers 1Then Job responded,
Truly then you are the people,
But I have intelligence as well as you;
I am a joke to my friends,
He who is at ease holds calamity in contempt,
The tents of the destroyers prosper,
But now ask the beasts, and let them teach you;
Or speak to the earth, and let it teach you;
Who among all these does not know
In whose hand is the life of every living thing,
Does not the ear test words,
Wisdom is with aged men,
Behold, He tears down, and it cannot be rebuilt;
Behold, He restrains the waters, and they dry up;
With Him are strength and sound wisdom,
He makes counselors walk barefoot
He loosens the bond of kings
He makes priests walk barefoot
He deprives the trusted ones of speech
He pours contempt on nobles
He reveals mysteries from the darkness
He makes the nations great, then destroys them;
He deprives of intelligence the chiefs of the earths people
They grope in darkness with no light, New American Standard Bible Copyright © 1960, 1962, 1963, 1968, 1971, 1972, 1973, 1975, 1977, 1995 by The Lockman Foundation, La Habra, Calif. All rights reserved. For Permission to Quote Information visit http://www.lockman.org Bible Apps |
