Zu meiner Vorgehensweise: Best practice (deutsch). Und es sei erwähnt, dass ich gleichartige und eher langweilige Änderungen mit einem Bot erledige. So manche in den Augen des Betrachters sinnlose Änderung einfacher Natur wird automatisch irgendwann wieder rückgängig gemacht, sinnvoll erscheinende oder immer wieder durch Dritte aus meiner Sicht eher unwichtige Änderungen werden von mir im Bot aufgenommen, so dass alle meine Bilder davon profitieren. |

Wiki Loves Monuments 2024 - Deutschland

Hallo XRay,
bald ist es soweit: Vom 1. bis zum 30. September 2024 findet zum 14. Mal der internationale Wettbewerb Wiki Loves Monuments (WLM) statt. Dabei können Bau-, Boden- und Kulturdenkmale fotografiert und die Fotos hochgeladen werden. Du hast an einem der vergangenen Fotowettbewerbe teilgenommen. Deshalb laden wir dich gern wieder ein, dieses Jahr mitzumachen. Wir freuen uns auf deine Fotos!
Vergangenes Jahr hat Rolf Kranz mit einer Winteransicht der Marksburg und der Schornsteine der Blei- und Silberhütte Braubach gewonnen. Welcher Fotograf oder welche Fotografin tritt dieses Jahr die Nachfolge an?
Nach WLM 2023 sind wieder zahlreiche neue Denkmallisten entstanden – zum Beispiel in Schenkenzell in Baden-Württemberg oder in Oyten in Niedersachsen.
Für die Suche nach Motiven gibt es bei Wikipedia zahlreiche Listen und Karten. Als Einstieg hilft diese Übersichtsseite. Weitere Informationen erhältst du auf der Mitmach-Seite.
Für das einfache Auffinden haben wir eine Upload-Karte erstellt, in der viele aber leider noch nicht alle Kulturdenkmale angezeigt werden können. Das Laden der Objekte dauert dort etwas.
Wir haben dieses Jahr drei Sonderpreise für Bilder zum Thema „Kinderwelten“ ausgelobt. Zugelassen sind für den Sonderpreis auch Fotos von Bauwerken, die nicht denkmalgeschützt sind. Dieser Sonderpreis wird gemeinsam mit dem Klexikon vergeben.
Damit es ab 1. September mit dem Upload schnell geht:
Außerdem laden wir Dich ein, ab Anfang September 2024 an der Vorjury teilzunehmen. Diese bewertet die hochgeladenen Bilder und ermittelt so gemeinsam mit der Jury, die Anfang November tagen wird, die Sieger von Wiki Loves Monuments 2024 in Deutschland. Das Vorjurytool ist hier bald freigeschaltet. Du benötigst dafür nur deinen Benutzernamen und das Passwort.

Bremer Express-Upload

Wenn Du weitere Bilder von Kulturdenkmälern in Bremen oder Bremerhaven hochladen möchtest, empfehle ich dir und bitte dich den Bremer Express-Upload direkt in der Denkmalliste zu benutzen (Kurzanleitung). Das garantiert die korrekte Denkmalnummer, Bezeichnung und Koordinaten und erspart dir Tipparbeit sowie dem lokalen Team Nacharbeit. Grüße Quarz (talk) 13:43, 2 September 2024 (UTC)
Dein Bild Bremerhaven, Strandhalle, Gedenkstein "Radschiff Washington" -- 2024 -- 2176.jpg kann leider nicht an dem Wettbewerb teilnehmen, weil kein Denkmalschutzobjekt abgebildet ist. Ich werde daher die entsprechenden Markierungen entfernen. Bitte nutze für Fotos von Objekten, die nicht in den Denkmallisten stehen, die klassischen Hochladeverfahren. - @Quarz: Danke für den Hinweis. Jetzt weiß ich auch, warum mein Bot bei der Nacharbeit über das Bild mit dem Gedenkstein gestolpert ist. Da fehlte plötzlich ein Template, welches ich aber gesetzt hatte. Auch danke für die Kurzanleitung. Ich werde allerdings bei meinem bisherigen Verfahren direkt aus Adobe Lightroom hochzuladen bleiben, denn die Uploadformulare sind viel zu aufwändig, wenn man mehrere Bilder hochlädt. Den Denkmalhinweis gibt es, sobald ich die Konfigurationsdaten meines Bots angepasst habe. Das wird aber bis zum Ende WLM noch passieren. Also keine Eile, abwarten ... (Ich wundere mich auch über die spontane Rückmeldung. Heißt es nicht immer Abwarten und Tee trinken?) --XRay 💬 14:18, 2 September 2024 (UTC)
- Ich habe mal vorab meinen Bot um die Konfigurationsdaten zu den Denkmälern Bremerhavens erweitert. Es dauert jetzt noch ein wenig, aber dann sind sie gesetzt. Die von den anderen Bildern, die ich heute schon hochgeladen habe, kommen aber später. Diese Bilder sind aber auch nicht aus Bremerhaven. --XRay 💬 14:28, 2 September 2024 (UTC)
- Wenn unser Bremer Express Upload nicht genutzt wird, hat sich die schnelle Ansprache bewährt. Oft werden weitere Bilder dann damit hochgeladen.

- Der Vorteil des Express-Uploads ist eben, dass man sich um nichts kümmern muss. Mit dem Klick in der richtige Zeile der Denkmalliste werden alle erforderlichen Daten In das Formular eingetragen, man schiebt die Datei dazu und schickt ab.
- Dass ich dich nicht locken kann, ist klar; dazu bringst du einfach zu viel Eigenes da rein und verwendest reichlich technische Hilfe. Quarz (talk) 15:37, 2 September 2024 (UTC)

- Editors and volunteer developers interested in data visualisation can now test the new software for charts. Its early version is available on beta Commons and beta Wikipedia. This is an important milestone before making charts available on regular wikis. You can read more about this project update and help to test the charts.
Feature news
- Editors who use the Special:UnusedTemplates page can now filter out pages which are expected to be there permanently, such as sandboxes, test-cases, and templates that are always substituted. Editors can add the new magic word
__EXPECTUNUSEDTEMPLATE__to a template page to hide it from the listing. Thanks to Sophivorus and DannyS712 for these improvements. [1] - Editors who use the New Topic tool on discussion pages, will now be reminded to add a section header, which should help reduce the quantity of newcomers who add sections without a header. You can read more about that, and 28 other community-submitted tasks that were resolved last week.
- Last week, some Toolforge tools had occasional connection problems. The cause is still being investigated, but the problems have been resolved for now. [2]
- Translation administrators at multilingual wikis, when editing multiple translation units, can now easily mark which changes require updates to the translation. This is possible with the new dropdown menu.

- A new draft text of a policy discussing the use of Wikimedia's APIs has been published on Meta-Wiki. The draft text does not reflect a change in policy around the APIs; instead, it is an attempt to codify existing API rules. Comments, questions, and suggestions are welcome on the proposed update’s talk page until September 13 or until those discussions have concluded.

- @Prototyperspective: First of all, I would like to ask you to ask questions on my talk page. I have moved your question to my talk page and asked for the category talk page to be deleted. Unfortunately, with the scattered requests, I don't always notice when people answer or ask. “Temporary” does not mean that the files themselves are temporary. It is a category where files are temporarily included for further processing. I have two of these categories. In one, my bot stops further processing or adds files there if there are irregularities; in the other, this is done manually, but the bot does not stop. Incidentally, there are currently files in the category with “(2)” at the end that still require manual reworking in the descriptions. And for your peace of mind: This should be done by the weekend. The stay of the files in this category is short. And please note that this is a user category. –XRay 💬 04:40, 3 September 2024 (UTC)
- Okay no problem, I asked there in case somebody else is also wondering about this at some point where they could then find the info on the talk page. Thanks for clarifying, I think it would be good to add this info to the category in the cat description to avoid confusion which is relevant because you're photos are high-quality so it's not unlikely some people go by that category or see int in the cats and wonder whether it means your photos are temporary (e.g. just temporarily CCBY or just temporarily on WMC). - @Prototyperspective: The category has existed for around 10 years now and so far nobody has thought to misunderstand its purpose. The pictures are usually only in there for a short time, a few days at most. And granting a license only temporarily contradicts the license conditions and temporary participation in a competition makes little sense. Even temporary storage in Wikimedia Commons contradicts the license terms. --XRay 💬 15:32, 3 September 2024 (UTC)
- Because it wouldn't be consistent with the license terms I asked. Most people don't ask and are just confused and it's normal that there's low activity like that on WMC. When category titles are not self-explanatory, and especially when they're easily mistaken or creating confusion, a category description should be added if not a cat title be chosen that is not ambiguous like "Files by XRay in bot processing" or "Files by XRay in bot processing stage". - Because it wouldn't be consistent with the license terms I asked. Most people don't ask and are just confused and it's normal that there's low activity like that on WMC. When category titles are not self-explanatory, and especially when they're easily mistaken or creating confusion, a category description should be added if not a cat title be chosen that is not ambiguous like "Files by XRay in bot processing" or "Files by XRay in bot processing stage". - @Prototyperspective: The category has existed for around 10 years now and so far nobody has thought to misunderstand its purpose. The pictures are usually only in there for a short time, a few days at most. And granting a license only temporarily contradicts the license conditions and temporary participation in a competition makes little sense. Thanks for clarifying, I think it would be good to add this info to the category in the cat description to avoid confusion which is relevant because you're photos are high-quality so it's not unlikely some people go by that category or see int in the cats and wonder whether it means your photos are temporary (e.g. just temporarily CCBY or just temporarily on WMC). - Starting this week, the standard syntax highlighter will receive new colors that make them compatible in dark mode. This is the first of many changes to come as part of a major upgrade to syntax highlighting. You can learn more about what's to come on the help page. [4][5]
- Editors of wikis using Wikidata will now be notified of only relevant Wikidata changes in their watchlist. This is because the Lua functions

Project updates
- Users of all Wikis will have access to Wikimedia sites as read-only for a few minutes on September 25, starting at 15:00 UTC. This is a planned datacenter switchover for maintenance purposes. - Contributors of 11 Wikipedias, including English will have a new

ich bin da in den letzten zwei Tagen auf einige kürzlich von Dir vorgenomme Ergänzungen von DEFAULTSORT in Kategorien für Personen gestoßen, die in die Wartungskategorie Category:Pages with DEFAULTSORT conflicts laufen bzw. liefen; dies, weil das Format des DEFAULTSORT-Begriffs nicht korrekt angelegt ist.
Korrektes Format: Nachname direkt gefolgt von einem Komma dann ein einzelnes Leerzeichen und Vorname(n)
Beispiel: {{DEFAULTSORT:Gunter Feist}} --> {{DEFAULTSORT:Feist, Gunter}}

- Kein Problem. Ich mache das ehrlicherweise mit einem Skript, aber das hat jetzt eine mehrmonatige Erprobungsphase hinter sich und es sind die letzten Korrekturen, die ich anbringe. Es läuft unter meinem Account, damit ich ggf. Zurücksetzungen sehe und eingreifen kann. [edit]Hallo XRay, mir ist aufgefallen, dass Du in letzter Zeit massenhaft solche Änderungen durchführst. Übersehe ich irgendwas, oder haben diese Edits absolut keinerlei Auswirkungen? Zumindest kann ich keine erkennen. Ich halte diese Edits daher für unsinnig, da sie ohne jede Wirkung nur die Versionsgeschichte aufblähen und die Beobachtungsliste zumüllen.
