There's no specific mention of the copyright status of currency in COM:BERMUDA, but chapter XI of the 2004 copyright act gives Crown (government) works a term of "until the end of the period of 125 years from the end of the calendar year in which the work was made", so none of these are in the public domain.

Yes, there's some copyright issues here. However, these photos are actively used on Wikipedia, should fall under UK's fair dealing. If possible, we should move them to the wiki and add rationale.(for example, like this) I can certainly do this for the images I've authored here. Forbes72 (talk) 19:15, 14 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Forbes72 I recommend you pick one image to represent the batch of coins - say File:Corona de bermuda BMU002.JPG, which shows the front and back of the same coin. If you bring over all of the images, it'll run afoul of en:WP:NFCC 3a, and I am actively in the process of nominating for deletion excessive non-free images in currency articles on that project. The Squirrel Conspiracy Appreciate the fact you're going through this. You're correct that copying all the coins would run afoul of 3a, since we don't need duplicates of coins from the same series. On the other hand, having different denominations represented presents information that just one coin would not. See for comparison: Wikipedia:Category:Coins of the United Kingdom. So the plan would be to move the following out of the commons and correctly label under fair dealing:

And fully delete as duplicates:

I can fill in the rest of the table at Wikipedia:Bermudian dollar to make sure we follow Wikipedia:WP:NFCC 7.Forbes72 (talk) 22:30, 14 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Wikimedia Commons is not Wikipedia. Each language Wikipedia has its own policies; Commons also has different policies. In particular, while the English Wikipedia allows fair use under certain conditions, Commons never allows fair use. Brianjd (talk) 15:32, 21 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
