Copyright status
[edit]Hi Cwbm, sorry just saw the message (sorry, summertime for me it a very bad period to edit). the images of the File:Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul, Douala.jpg, File:Cheminee de Bonakwamwang.jpg, File:Chamber of Commerce (Douala 1927-1928).jpg were photos in public domain from Mission 21 archive used by doual'art. did i maybe use the template not correctly? can you please help me understanding better what was the problem and if eventually can be solved. thank you. --iopensa (talk) 14:31, 18 July 2013 (UTC)
- I'm not quite sure but I think you used template PD which is not valid anymore. You need to use a different template which states why the file is in the public domain. Cheers --Cwbm (commons) (talk) 10:28, 22 July 2013 (UTC)

Summary sections
[edit]FTR: the proper way to denote a “Summary” section is == {{int:filedesc}} ==
(which renders as “Summary” in the currently selected language), not just == Summary ==

[edit]Hi. Are You sure? This svg is not in polish, as gif is. So it's not usable on plWiki. Svg may be translated, gif may be converted – but using english svg file instead of polish one is not good idea :) Piastu (talk) 22:40, 4 March 2014 (UTC)
Hi, Cwbm... could you please explain why you removed the {{Shouldbesvg}} tag from File:Keto enol tautomerism.png? It would help me to know, so that I don't clog up the category backlog with similar files. Cheers, Storkk (talk) 15:18, 26 March 2014 (UTC)
- Hi, there is a vector version available. Cheers --Cwbm (commons) (talk) 15:29, 26 March 2014 (UTC)
- OK, thanks - i have tagged it as such. Cheers, Storkk (talk) 15:37, 26 March 2014 (UTC)
Re:The File:Arms of the Viscounts of Villamur.svg contains raster elements
[edit]- Hi Cwbm. I know that this image have raster graphics, but I don't know who change it for imporve his quality. As you can see, the majority of the times I upload images in .png because is a format that I know a lot, however, the .svg hardly know. Can you help me to get ready the image?
- Thanks. - Lector d Wiki Zer?
Hi Lector, that image would actually need to be completely (re)drawn. All you did is put a raster image into a svg container which is not really useful. Cheers --Cwbm (commons) (talk) 10:03, 30 March 2014 (UTC)
SVG on Vostok Article
[edit]Hi Cwbm,
thanks for getting in touch. Didn't take it personally! I had to redraw this image in Adobe Illustrator as I needed a vector version of it for a project I was doing. The entire thing has been redrawn and exported as an SVG and I think what may have happened is I had the original PNG image on a hidden layer in order to trace over it. So while there is no visible raster image, it's there in a hidden layer? Perhaps?
Anyway, I'll resave it and upload it and see what Wikimedia says.
Thanks, Rory.
Parts of an SVG image are in bitmap format
[edit]Hi Cwbm, I wanted to to delete the bad parts of the drawing, which are on a hidden layer, but I am not able to save the svg file to my computer. This is the error message: This page contains the following errors:
error on line 1 at column 1: Document is empty Below is a rendering of the page up to the first error. What to do? Thanks Kaboldy
- Hello Kaboldy, let me say it in representation. You can 1. chose the (browser command) download the full page (CTRL +S, if you in full display mode) or 2. you can chose the full download-link above left of the image description. Normally you can download it per right click on the image but this don't work for somes images with bitmaps. -- Perhelion 16:53, 21 May 2014 (UTC)
B12 "undo"
[edit]Regarding this edit: First, why have you done it as "undo" instead of doing what the templates say ("replace afterwards this template..."), especially since your edit involved much more changes that just "undoing" my edit? Second, the structure in the SVG is different (at least, it shows general R instead of CN attached to cobalt and does not show "+" at the N of dimethylbenzimidazolyl and "−" at the O of phosphate). — Mikhail Ryazanov (talk) 05:58, 24 September 2014 (UTC)
File:AtomicLineSpEm.svg
[edit]Regarding the file in the topic title, it seems that there was a minor mistake in the vectorisation process. The original raster image has, correctly, the energy of the photon represented by h

Hello!. You should always try to categorize your uploaded media in a more accurate category. In this case Category:SVG aortic valve diseases. Before upload a media, you should browse by categories to determine the most convenient one/s (or create a new category). Thanks. Jmarchn (talk) 18:30, 24 August 2018 (UTC)

Important message for file movers
[edit]A community discussion has been closed where the consensus was to grant all file movers the suppressredirect
user right. This will allow file movers to not leave behind a redirect when moving files and instead automatically have the original file name deleted. Policy never requires you to suppress the redirect, suppression of redirects is entirely optional.
Possible acceptable uses of this ability:
- To move recently uploaded files with an obvious error in the file name where that error would not be a reasonable redirect. For example: moving "Sheep in a tree.jpg" to "Squirrel in a tree.jpg" when the image does in fact depict a squirrel.
- To perform file name swaps.
- When the original file name contains vandalism. (File renaming criterion #5)
Please note, this ability should be used only in certain circumstances and only if you are absolutely sure that it is not going to break the display of the file on any project. Redirects should never be suppressed if the file is in use on any project. When in doubt, leave a redirect. If you forget to suppress the redirect in case of file name vandalism or you are not fully certain if the original file name is actually vandalism, leave a redirect and tag the redirect for speedy deletion per G2.
The malicious or reckless breaking of file links via the suppressredirect
user right is considered an abuse of the file mover right and is grounds for immediate revocation of that right. This message serves as both a notice that you have this right and as an official warning. Questions regarding this right should be directed to administrators. --Majora (talk) 21:35, 7 November 2019 (UTC)
