Characters components
[edit]-
村 is a compound of木 &寸 in modern script, -
but the left component of that one is
屯 , -
and the right one is 邑.
-
seal-
木 , see Category:ACC containing seal-木 .
Hello, Alexbdf
Indeed,
But the "component1=" parameters are meant to classify compound characters according to their components. If you indicate "component1=
Actually, a wrong identification is not as bad as a missing one, since browsing through the corresponding category makes it easy to spot wrong identifications. For instance, in Category:ACC containing seal-
- The bottom part of
早 -seal.svg is File:甲 -seal.svg, not十 . And for the早 -bronze.svg bottom part, I would use either "?" (unidentified) or more probably "Misc" (idiosyncratic and irrelevant for classification purpose). - The
先 family needs not to be decomposed, since the character has several compounds, but the Category:ACC containing先 was missing, so I created it. That category should itself be categorized into the Category:6 strokes ACC components, since the modern character component (in this case, appearing alone) has six strokes. - Categories are always named after the full form of the character, so that File:
花 -bigseal.svg should be flagged by艸 to be correctly retrieved, not 艹. - Idem, the
化 category should be crated, and the components should be re-indexed in that category. I'll do that one. - Though it appears to be compound, 交 is etimologically a single picture (see https://fr.wiktionary.org/wiki/%E4%BA%A4) so Category:ACC containing 交 should be created.
... and so on, you can proofread your uploads

By the way, the "stroke numbers" of non-compound characters make it easier to identify non-familiar drawings (such as 邑-seal) : the stroke count is quite obvious in that case, and you can then identify 邑-seal by browsing in [[:Category:3-stroke ancient Chinese characters ]] - that's the idea why the stroke numbers should be given for non-compound characters.
As for your
I can't correct all that right away since I've got a train to catch in the real life, but keep on doing good job, the pictures are fine.

- Hello, Alexbdf,
- Of course "ACClicense|
青 |seal|s03660|strokes=0|component1=" is quite acceptable for compound characters (since the stroke count is irrelevant in that case) ; if you can it would be better to put "ACClicense|青 |seal|s03660|strokes=|component1=" when the character is obviously a non-compound one, so that it can easily be spotted and completed afterwards. - Or, better yet, something like "ACClicense|
青 |seal|s03660|strokes=?|component1=" so that "help needed" is obvious in that case; and a systematic proofread can be made by someone. - I'll probably come back to you to proofread tutorials on these two parameters, since I've discovered that these points were unclear. A first tutorial on stroke count is there Template:ACClicense/Strokes, if you have any comment they will be wellcome.
- Yours, Michelet-

Wyang uploads
[edit]Wyang's bot has been blocked because it was not authorized, and there are several strong objection against its being used as is (see Commons:Bots/Requests/Wyangbot). Keep on doing your uploads, they are useful whatever Wyang does. Michelet-
