BJP wins 240 seats, Congress 99: EC declares results for all Lok Sabha constituencies
According to the final results, declared early on June 4, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is poised to form the government for a third consecutive term with the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) getting a majority in the Lok Sabha, notwithstanding crushing losses in three Hindi heartland states after a bitterly fought election that was projected as a referendum on his popularity.

Among the prominent winners is Supriya Sule, who won the Baramati seat for the fourth successive time by defeating Sunetra Pawar, the wife of her cousin and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. The fight for the Baramati seat was being keenly watched as it was for the first time that two members of the Pawar family were fighting the polls against each other in their home turf.
AAP office space allotment: Delhi HC asks Centre to take decision within six weeks
The Delhi High Court on Wednesday said the AAP is entitled to space for a party office here like other national political parties and asked the Centre to take a decision on the issue within six weeks. Justice Subramonium Prasad observed that national political parties have the right to one housing unit from the general pool in Delhi for office use on payment of licence fee until they have acquired land for constructing their own.

"I take the responsibility for such results in Maharashtra. I was leading the party. BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik resigns as Odisha CM after losing to BJP in the Assembly Election
Following the Biju Janata Dal's unforeseen defeat in the Assembly polls, party supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik submitted his resignation to the Odisha Governor at Raj Bhavan in Bhubaneswar. BJD chief Naveen Patnaik served as the Chief Minister of Odisha for the last 24 years. The five-time Chief Minister reached the Governor’s official residence at 11:35 am, and later Patnaik submitted his resignation.
