Hi there. I wanted to explain why I reverted a recent edit of yours. Per [[MOS:NICKNAME]], we generally don't include unnecessary nicknames in the opening sentence. If someone is well-known as "Bill", for example, we don't have to alert users to the fact that this is short for "William". It's pretty obvious to anyone familiar with English naming customs.
