Plot

edit

Modern Warfare plot is too long... need to lessen it up a bit. Need professionals here110.55.184.97 (talk) 12:44, 25 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hello nooobs

edit

For all the idiots out there, please stop focusing on John Price and the Modern warfare series. There were two Prices, and the Task Force 141 is NOT that important in the page. Please don't put all your attention to the Modern warfare shit, there's a price in COD and COD 2 too.

Yes! I am changing this article to only reference Capt. John Price from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Dreammaker182 (talk) 07:59, 10 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Character importance

edit

This character is a legend and every COD fans and gamers know it. It's the only character who appeared frequently in any characters in the series. And Infinity Ward owes it like a licence. I need some time and have to make some calls to improve it. Anyone can help. Godzilladude123 (talk)Godzilladude123

Picture

edit

The only thing missing is an image for both Prices. Anyone has a picture or something? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 112.198.224.230 (talk) 07:48, 7 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Notability

edit

The captain appears to be notable for his mustache: Abc.net.au, GanesRadar.com, CrispyGamer.com, Game Informer, 360magazine.co.uk, VG247, TotalVideoGames.com, PSU.com, OXM.co.uk, OCWeekly.com, GamerLive.tv, MyGaming.co.za, and GameFront.com. --Odie5533 (talk) 15:47, 9 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hello, In the topic Captain Price , his first appearance in the Call of Duty franchise, was in Call of Duty. Game of the year published in 2000. He being held by the Germans in a fortified camp. You as the single shooter are the one who finds him in a prison cell. Davidrstevens183 (talk) 17:47, 30 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Different Price. Do you think he's 80 years old in Modern Warfare? -- ferret (talk) 18:40, 30 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Different Prices

edit

The Price in the Modern Warfare series is the original Price's grandson or son, as said on the IW page and Call of Duty wikia, I will fix the details shortly. Dontforgetthisone (talk) 17:14, 11 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

There is no indication that the MW Price is the grandson of the Price from the original Call of Duty on the COD wikia, and IW has not confirmed this either. See here: Price (World War II) and John Price Therefore, if this article is identifying the Prices with only a picture of the Modern Warfare Price, then all of the information with the Price in original Call of Duty should be removed, or this whole article should be deleted because of the Prices being totally two different characters in different games and are not notable enough. If the MW Price really is the grandson of the WWII Price, then provide a different source other than COD wikia or IW in your response.--Captainmad2 (talk) 23:31, 21 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

I agree. Never understood why this article covered both with zero reliable sources making any connection at all between them. I don't believe the WWII Price is nearly as notable as the MW Price either. -- ferret (talk) 00:00, 22 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

This article should be rename to Captain Price, aparante is unecesary for this article. Egon Eagle (talk) 17:53, 26 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

  • Support This is no other article on Wikipedia named Captain Price. Looking at the history of the new proposed title it has always been redirected to a Call Of Duty related article (The series the character came from) since 2007 strongly indicating that the character is the primary meaning of Captain Price. I also looked at the first four pages in a Google search and found that the vast majority were related to this character. The only two that weren't related was one page for a book called Captain's Price and a new article that included the words captain and price and not seperately. I know that Google searches are not considered good source but I would expect if there is another notable person by this name there would have been something about that person by that point in the search.

I did a quick Goolge News search to be through and did find some old new paper articles about people named Captain Price but I don't think any of them would be important enough to prevent this character from being the primary topic. [[1]]--70.24.207.225 (talk) 00:17, 27 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Different Prices

edit

Call of Duty series has two different Prices. One's the WW Price we've seen in CoD & CoD2 and another is the MW one on whom this article is written. However, the article does not mention anywhere that two such characters exist and stresses entirely on the MW Captain Price. I believe that it should be moved to Captain Price (Modern Warfare series).

TheodoreIndiana (talk) 10:46, 29 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

We do not disambiguate if the other Price has no article and is not notable on his own. There is no competing "Captain Price" article to require disambiguation. -- ferret (talk) 21:14, 29 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Semi-protected edit request on 23 June 2021

edit

In the Wikipedia article for Captain Price, it is shown that he and Nikolai are the only 2 characters to appear in all 3 games of the original Modern Warfare trilogy. This is not true, as another substantially important character: Soap MacTavish is also present in these 3 games.

I would like to rectify this error by editing the first line of the overview to correct the statement; the statement being: "Captain John Price is a fictional character in the Call of Duty series. He is the main protagonist of the Modern Warfare sub-series being one of two characters to be featured in all of the games in the sub-series, the other being Nikolai".

I would change it to "being one of 3 characters to be featured in all of the games in the sub series, the others being Nikolai and Soap MacTavish" ThaK3tra (talk) 14:17, 23 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

The characters are very similar, but this article is explicitly about the Modern Warfare version/universe. They are definitely not the same character. -- ferret (talk) 19:20, 14 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

Image is lower quality here than on the wiki?

Should it be updated with the slightly higher quality one from the fan wiki? Plebiano (talk) 19:15, 25 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
