This reads as if he was straight all his life: wife, kids, the whole disaster. But there was more to him than that. He and Benjamin Britten were lovers for a time, and I'm sure he had other men in his life. He was essentially gay, or at least bisexual, who managed to marry and have an apparently happy straight life. I appended a stub flag to the end of the External Links section of the article. The introductory section is in need of a photo, or at least a portrait, of the composer. I'm sure there must be one somewhere in the Ethernet. At the very least, some library somewhere (perhaps in or near the composer's hometown) has one in its collection. Any takers?
