Science Olympiads
editThere are multiple gold, silver, and bronze winners each year. The "medal" given depends on a score tier. Gubser was the Grand Winner of IPhO in 1989, with the highest score among 10 gold medals that year: https://ipho-unofficial.org/timeline/1989/individual
His "silver medal" in Chemistry the following year is far less significant, because he ranked 31st, which is not notable at all. To add this medal, even with the generic article "a" instead of "the" is to confuse users who don't understand science olympiads. Martindo (talk) 12:47, 1 January 2023 (UTC)
