Katyn Massacre eventually included 28 000 people, out of them 15 000 were POW military and police staff in 3 camps. However, the miliatary and police staff were subject of registration, that included also retired and reserve officers. In conditions of pre-1939 Poland, every men who graduated from univeristy became reserve officer and eventually were murdered by NKVD. People of Volhynia were not exception. They were included in number military and police staff and those 13 000 others that were executed on the ground of the same Stalin's order. Cautious 16:48, 17 Mar 2004 (UTC)

If you limit the Volyn region article to only present day staff, the Katyn massacre should also be omitted. Otherwise, it was the part of history of this region as well. Cautious 09:02, 18 Mar 2004 (UTC)

Volyn Partisan movement

Don't know what AndriyK has been going on about but there was four administartions for partisan movement of the Volyn oblast (and seven for the neighbouring Rovno) Having lived in the latter for over five years I have met with some many former partisan members. Very nice old people BTW, and I have not seen a single former UPA. However I did see that when a statue to them was erected it stood for two days before it was destroyed by hooligans. Yet the Red Army statues statnd in full pride and honour and every time an anniversary of 9th May or the city/towns liberation comes they got a massive cleanup, as do the cemetaries of the fallen soldiers. Also the amount of veterans that gather for these occasions is beyond countable, as are the impressive fireworks.Kuban kazak 16:13, 27 November 2005 (UTC)

Filing arbitration and getting resolution for hearing the case does not deny him respect, it is absolutely your personal bussiness to have respect for some people and disregard some other people. His behavior in itself is nothing what would earn him mine, but I also have problems with remarks like this. –Gnomz⁰⁰⁷(?) 19:36, 27 November 2005 (UTC)

Well I have problems with deleting compleate sections even irrelevant to the UPA/Partisan question, e.g. Lutskiy Avtomobilnyi Zavod, why was that removed without anyone's consent. That the case was accepted for arbitration only means that it is not resolvable by other means. It is neither a positive nor negative statement about any of the parties involved, and the results of the arbitration are yet to be determined. Please consider arguments in discussions on their own merits, and don't use the pending arbitration as support for unrelated arguments. —Michael Z. 2005-11-27 21:51 Z

Y'all know everything that I have to say about AndriyK, but still let's use more neutral phrasing in edit summaries. Besides, let's think how we divide information between the Volyn article about the history of the region and Volyn Oblast article about the modern Ukrainian administrative subdivision. --Irpen 20:22, 27 November 2005 (UTC)
