Campeiro

edit

Thank you for creating Campeiro. You might find this page useful as you expand and improve the article: Wikipedia:WikiProject_Equine/Horse_breeds#Structure_of_Articles. You will need to add some references and show that this is a real breed and such. Also be careful not to copy and paste material from any outside sources, write in your own words. Good luck! Montanabw(talk) 16:43, 17 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

On the Campolina article, you added some lovely photos, but their copyright status is unclear and they are tagged at Commons for more info. If that information is provided, I think some of them would be useful in the article, but if they are under copyright, they will get deleted and we won't be able to use them, so I am going to wait until that question is settled. Your other edits were somewhat helpful, except that we do need a source that "Fazenda Tanque" translates as "Tank Farm" - and why on earth was it named something like that? (usually we don't want to compare horses to a tank, so there might be a translation question?) Thanks! Montanabw(talk) 16:54, 17 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Campeiro, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Santa Catarina and Roan. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi, GabrielLGoes! Did you see my question at Talk:Campeiro‎? I wondered, because you don't seem to have answered it, nor to have done anything to address the problem I mentioned there. Please understand that if the content was translated from copyright material on that website, it must be released to us under a licence that allows it to be used here or it will be removed. I don't want to discourage you from editing here, but the question I asked you does, I'm afraid, need an answer. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 09:14, 19 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

GabrielLGoes, I see that you have edited since I wrote this here, but have chosen not to make any reply to it. With regret I have now blanked the Campeiro article and listed it at WP:copyright problems for review. You should not remove the copyvio notice or edit the page or edit the blanked content until the problems have been resolved; this usually takes a week or more. If you have questions and ask them here, I will see that you have done so, and will try to answer them. I am putting a notice with some explanation of this below. Images

edit

Hi Gabriel, I am glad to see you working hard on the Campiero article, but unfortunately, I've had to remove your gallery twice now. Please don't put it back in; select the five or six finest images and stick to those. WP:NOT and WP:GALLERY explain that Wikipedia is not a scrapbook or an "indiscriminate collection of images." Such collections belong on a page at Wikimedia Commons. Also, many of your images appear to have been pulled off the web and may be copyrighted such as this, and thus are in danger of being deleted. Read WP:IMAGES for more information. I don't want to discourage you but I felt I needed to alert you to the rules for wikipedia. Montanabw(talk) 17:41, 19 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Pampa

edit

I like your new article; I'm going to ask JLAN to run a copy check on it, but I think it should replace the existing Pampa horse article, as I think that one might be about the same breed. Montanabw(talk) 05:25, 22 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
