Overlinking

This edit goes against WP:OVERLINK. Do not link common terms. Those terms were not linked not by mistake but because they don't need to be. Walter Görlitz (talk) 04:29, 22 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

September 2017

Thanks for contributing to the article Once Human. However, one of Wikipedia's core policies is that contributions must be verifiable, by being clearly attributed to reliable sources, preferably using inline citations. Please help by adding more sources to the article you edited, and/or by clarifying how the sources already given support the claims (see here for how to do inline referencing). Thanks! P.S. If you need any help, you can look at Help:Contents/Editing Wikipedia or ask at Wikipedia:New contributors' help page, or just ask me. Thank you. --Jax 0677 (talk) 18:05, 30 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

I was at a Once Human show and met the band. They told me that he was no longer in the band, so updated it. MetalSword (talk) 23:28, 30 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

edit

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Machine Head (band). Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been reverted.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continual disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you. 4TheWynne(talk)(contribs) 09:12, 12 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

Linking common instruments

edit

I noticed that when you updated the Allegaeon article, you also linked the instruments. That's not necessary. Nobody is coming to the article to understand what "lead guitar" means. That's essentially what WP:OVERLINK states. It's also what the guideline for band articles states. I removed those links. Also, each line is a single studio album, not multiple studio albums. I know that there are many articles where it's plural, but it's not correct. Thanks for your edits. Do you have a source for those changes, or are you going based on what album liner notes state? Walter Görlitz (talk) 00:51, 17 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited You Can't Stop Me (album), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page George Fisher (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

timelines

edit

It's commonly incorrect, but each line is a single release, not multiple so it should not be "studio albums", "EPs" or "other releases", but rather singular: "studio album", "EP" or "other release". It's standard for charting. Walter Görlitz (talk) 05:07, 25 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

I'll keep that in mind. MetalSword (talk) 11:55, 25 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Couple things

edit

First, the WP:EASTEREGG guideline says don't put a piped link to death growl behind the word "vocals", because you are hiding the death growl article from the reader, and surprising them when they click on "vocals".

Second, if you can't find WP:Reliable sources that support the assertion of lead and rhythm guitar roles, then don't add lead or rhythm guitar roles to an article.

Thank you. Binksternet (talk) 00:01, 7 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Okay, I have the reliable sources, should I attach them to the page? Thank you. MetalSword (talk) 00:02, 7 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Weinberg vs Venturella

What is your actual proof that Weinberg joined before Venturella? They were both announced as official members on the same day (with Venturella being unofficially revealed much earlier). 82.40.107.245 (talk) 22:46, 27 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

added a link pointing to Epica

Bomber

edit

Eddie Clarke did indeed perform backing vocals on multiple tracks from Bomber. I have an old 8-track copy that states it clearly, plus you can detect his voice in the backing vocals on "Poison" and "Sharpshooter", perhaps others as well but those two come immediately to mind. Why do you say he doesn't sing backing vocals on the album? SolarFlash (talk) 00:53, 31 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

Because according to Metallum, it said that Lemmy did both lead and backing vocals by himself in the studio. If you're right, I apologize, as I am a big fan of Motörhead. MetalSword (talk) 01:12, 31 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

Oh OK. Metallum cannot be used as a source because it's all user generated content. Cheers, mate. SolarFlash (talk) 16:49, 31 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

Combichrist

edit

Nick Rossi played main drums on the summer tour 2017, which Joe Letz sat out before rejoining Combi for the US tour with Lords of Acid that year. Nick also played main drums, with Will Spod on percussion (second/standing drums) at two or three shows in Summer 2018 - Joe flew back to LA to film a promo video with Emigrate and missed two or three shows. Joe and Elliott both missed a show in Poland (I think Poland) due to their other commitments with Aesthetic Perfection on the same day, and Nick played that show too.   Hello. I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. To help yourself remember, you may wish to check the "prompt me when entering a blank edit summary" box in your preferences. Thanks! Walter Görlitz (talk) 06:46, 31 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

Sorry. I have Asperger's and I can come off as very obsessive when it comes to heavy metal music. MetalSword (talk) 23:17, 7 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
If you continue to violate WP policies like WP:V, WP:OR, WP:VANDAL in your edits you'll be reported. You cannot be changing and adding content to articles that is not supported by reliable sources and, in the case of album credits, not supported by an album's liner notes. Also, if you are using multiple accounts or making these edits with different IPs - and I say this because IP accounts have been making similar edits to yours in the articles you're editing - this is also violates WP's policies and may get you indefinitely blocked if you continue. Lapadite (talk) 23:40, 7 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi! I saw that you corrected the order of the of the band members, but something apparently went weird and it didn't take somehow (the bass player was still listed first). So I tried correcting it myself and the same thing happened. So then I did it the hard way via source editing and it worked the second time. I just didn't want you to think I was trying to be a jerk or something. Thanks! StuOnThis (talk) 14:51, 31 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
