 Welcome Tom.j.slocombe!
Hello Tom.j.slocombe. Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions!

I'm Jauerback, one of the other editors here, and I hope you decide to stay and help contribute to this amazing repository of knowledge.

Some pages of helpful information to get you started:

Alternatively, leave me a message at my talk page or type {{Help me}} here on your talk page and someone will try to help.

There are many ways you can contribute to Wikipedia. Here are a few ideas:
    Fight vandalism
Be a WikiFairy or a WikiGnome
    Help contribute to articles
    Perform maintenance tasks

Become a member of a project that interests you
    Help design new templates
Subscribe and contribute to The Signpost
Translate articles from Wikipedias in other languages

To get some practice editing you can use a sandbox. You can create your own personal sandbox for use any time. It's perfect for working on bigger projects. Then for easy access in the future, you can put {{My sandbox}} on your user page. By the way, seeing as you haven't created a user page yet, simply click here to start it.

Please remember to:

  • Always sign your posts on talk pages. You can do this either by clicking on the   button on the edit toolbar or by typing four tildes ~~~~ at the end of your post. This will automatically insert your signature, a link to your talk page, and a timestamp.
  • Leave descriptive edit summaries for your edits. Doing so helps other editors understand what changes you have made and why you made them.
The best way to learn about something is to experience it. Explore, learn, contribute, and don't forget to have some fun!

Sincerely, Jauerbackdude?/dude. (Leave me a message) 18:59, 25 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm Jauerback. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Robbie Coltrane, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Jauerbackdude?/dude. 19:25, 25 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add or change content, as you did at John Challis, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Waxworker (talk) 22:42, 8 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Please stop. If you continue to add unsourced or poorly sourced content, as you did at Emma Thompson, you may be blocked from editing. Meters (talk) 20:16, 16 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you add unsourced or poorly sourced material to Wikipedia, as you did at John Laurie. Stop doing this. You have added unsourced information to multiple articles. This is the third time you have attempted to add the same unsourced claim to this article. Either provide a reliable source or don't add it. And please read WP:EW Meters (talk) 20:20, 16 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 24 hours for persistently adding unsourced or poorly sourced content. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please review Wikipedia's guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Daniel Case (talk) 21:18, 21 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you add unsourced or poorly sourced material to Wikipedia, as you did at John Kay (musician). Rift (talk) 19:08, 24 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

You have had two blocks for this already, and you immediately return to adding improperly sourced bio claims. If you have a source you need to add it to the article where you make the claim, not in your edit summary. And you cannot include information that is not in the source. If a source says someone died at home, but not where his home was you cannot claim that he died at his home in XXX. If it says that he died in YYY but not where, you cannot claim that he died in his home in YYY. Meters (talk) 06:13, 3 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 1 month for persistently adding unsourced or poorly sourced content. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please review Wikipedia's guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Jauerbackdude?/dude. 11:58, 3 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

You need to take the time and learn how to properly add reliable sources that actually support the changes you're making. If you can demonstrate that you understand exactly how to do this before the month is up, your block can be lifted. However, if you choose to remain silent, and come back in a month and immmediately return to adding unsourced claims, your next block will be indefinite. That, of course, can be lifted to, but not without some work from you. Jauerbackdude?/dude. 12:04, 3 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Blocked for sockpuppetry

edit

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for abusing multiple accounts per the evidence presented at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Tom.j.slocombe. Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please review Wikipedia's guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Sir Sputnik (talk) 21:20, 7 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
