The ounce (avoirdupois[note 1]) is a unit of mass ("weight") equal to 1⁄16 of a pound or about 28 g.[note 2][1] The ounce is herein abbreviated as oz. When converting a recipe to metric, it is usually sound to make the following approximations.
oz | ≈ | 30 to | 32 g |
oz | ≈ | 60 to | 65 g |
oz | ≈ | 90 to | 95 g |
oz | ≈ | 120 to | 125 g |
oz | ≈ | 180 to | 190 g |
oz | ≈ | 240 to | 250 g |
oz | ≈ | 300 to | 320 g |
oz | ≈ | 360 to | 375 g |
oz | ≈ | 480 to | 500 g |
