This is a natural mistake, given that he rejected the idea that experiences are illusory, but it's a mistake nonetheless. Bizarrely, one of the sentences referenced DeWitt's book "Epicurus and His Philosophy" as support for the claim. The deleted sentence claimed: "More original writings of Epicurus have survived to the present day than of any other Hellenistic Greek philosopher."
