Tomcic was born in 1964. He grew up in Croatia, and since 1991 has been based in the USA until he relocated to Germany in 2009. He studied Art History and Comparative Literature at the University of Zagreb, and holds M.A. in Curatorial Studies at Bard College. Since 2015 his artistic practice has been focused on participatory art, particularly on the “Pompom Nets” project; an ongoing, interdisciplinary, process-based participatory art project and a social experiment. The project creates temporary situations and a new ways of being associated.
