Welcome from Redwolf24

Welcome!

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. We as a community are glad to have you and thank you for creating a user account! Here are a few good links for newcomers:

Yes some of the links appear a bit boring at first, but they are VERY helpful if you ever take the time to read them.

Remember to place any articles you create into a category so we don't get orphans.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! By the way, please be sure to sign your name on Talk and vote pages using four tildes (~~~~) to produce your name and the current date, or three tildes (~~~) for just your name. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my Talk page. Again, welcome.

Redwolf24 The current date and time is 29 July 2024 T 03:59 UTC.

P.S. I like messages :-P

I don't see how saying Cream is Clapton's band suggests that Clapton owns the band any more than saying The Beatles are Ringo's band suggests that Ringo Starr owns The Beatles... but I don't wish to enter an edit war. Can I revert it? Flowerparty talk 23:51, 31 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I'm glad we agree on the topic and have found a midway and I hope to conutinue a friendly relationship on Wikipedia with you becuase we are both helping the community and need not bicker over petty squables. Patman2648

Well thank you, I just decided to fix the picture when I came across it. Also I just created the Bobby Whitlock article, because I'm a big fan of Derek and the Dominos and all its members. So you should add some info to it, if you want. Private Butcher 23:24, 2 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Layla album cover.jpg has been listed for deletion

An image or media file that you uploaded, Image:Layla album cover.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please look there to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you.

Redundant with Image:LaylaCover.jpgjiy (talk) 01:24, 5 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Fine with me, I only needed it for Derek & the Dominos but now that they have a replacement picture, i'm fine, delete it and thanks for the heads up! Patman2648

Thanks for uploading Image:Yardbirds including Clapton.jpg. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, ie in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{gfdl}} to release it under the GFDL. If you can claim fair use use {{fairuse}}.) See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thanks so much. --Secretlondon 22:35, 17 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for informing me about the copyright, I did some research on the issue and used the proper copyright tag and provided a link from where I got it originally. I have done this to the other previous images I've uploaded and will promise to do it in the future now that I've learned how to do it. You see, I've always wanted to add copyright but I didn't know where to get the template and what to say but with your help and a few hours online practicing I've got it down, thanks again! Thank you for your vote on my RFA

Now that the voting has officially closed, I would like to thank you very much for supporting my candidacy for adminstrator and as of 18:36, 28 October 2005 (UTC) I am an administrator. I will make sure to use the additional power judiciously and I welcome any comments you may have. --Reflex Reaction 19:01, 28 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Edit count

Hi Patman,
I just saw your post on kate's talk page abt how to find out number of edits per article. I wrote a java code for that(which i can execute on my PC) but I have no idea of how to deploy it on the server. So i executed the code with your user name and here are the top ten articles to which u made your maximum edits.

Participant alert regarding Wikiproject on Advertising

The Wikiproject No Ads, created as a backlash against the Answers.com deal, has served an important function in providing a space for users to express their disagreement with the Foundation proposal. While the current controversies about userboxes raise questions about political and social advocacy on Wikipedia, there should be greater flexibility regarding advocacy about Wikipedia in the Wikipedia namespace. Reported and linked by Slashdot and other press sources as a unique and spontaneous occurence in Wikipedia history, it has apparently had some impact as, despite being scheduled to begin in January, not a peep has been heard about the trial and proposed sponsored link since the deal's controversial announcement months ago. Currently, however, there is an attempt to delete the project or move it off Wikipedia altogether. Since the Foundation has provided no additional information and has not attempted to answer the specific questions that participants in the project raised, it is unclear if the Answers.com deal has been abandoned or simply delayed. Until the situation becomes more clear, I believe the group should still have a place in the Wikipedia namespace. Sincerely, Tfine80 00:11, 10 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm an admin now!!

Thanks for voting on my RFA and helping me become an admin. The final tally was 108-0-1 (putting me on the WP:100 list. I hope to do my best in upholding the integrity of Wikipedia. Thanks again, Gator (talk) 13:17, 17 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

My RFA

Rolling Stone Record Guide

I'm thinking about changing some of the edits you made back for a couple of reasons but I thought I'd ask you to consider my reasoning first since you seem to have put quite a bit of effort into these changes.

1. Some of the changes you made in switching sentences from present tense to past tense don't make sense. Here's an example:

The article as I altered it a few moths ago said

"The New Rolling Stone Record Guide is an update of 1979's The Rolling Stone Record Guide. Like the first edition, it was edited by Dave Marsh and John Swenson. It includes contributions from 52 music critics and features chronological album listings under the name of each artist.

You changed it to

The New Rolling Stone Record Guide was an update of 1979's The Rolling Stone Record Guide. Like the first edition, it was edited by Dave Marsh and John Swenson. It included contributions from 52 music critics and featured chronological album listings under the name of each artist.

The problem when you change 'is' to 'was' is that by shifting the verbs from the present active indicative into the preterite active indicative, you're saying that The New Rolling Stone Record Guide is no longer an update of 1979's The Rolling Stone Record Guide. You're saying that it was an update at a certain point of time in the past, but that it has stopped being an update in the present time. The condition in the past is a condition that has stopped when you use the preterite tense. But that's not true in this case. The second edition still is an update and it will always be an update of the first edition. Even though the first 3 editions of the guide are out of print and hard to find, they still are what they are. Describing them in the preterite tense means that they were something different in the past than they are now.

Similarly if you change includes to included you're saying that it stopped including contributions from 52 critics.

Likewise if you change features to featured you're saying that it no longer features chronological album listings. Maybe they switched to alphabetical listings when no one was looking - who knows?

Here's another way of thinking of it with some different examples.

Don is my father. // Don was my father.

If I say was in this case, that means that Don isn't my father any more--which doesn't make any sense. He'll always be my father. Even if he's dead.

Compare that with:

Don is acting like jerk. // Don was acting like a jerk.

If I say was in this case, that means he stopped acting like a jerk.

But in the description of these books, they've never stopped being updates of the original edition, they've never stopped including the number of reviewers they've included, and they've never stopped featuring the things they feature. They still exist in the present under the same metaphysical conditions they existed in when they were first published.

2. The other issue is with the descriptions of the ratings. The 'Table of Contents' and the 'Rating System' descriptions in the article are direct quotes from the different editions of this book - or at least they were till you changed them. I had been planning on coming back and making that more clear now that I've had more time to learn the footnoting system on Wikipedia, but I hadn't gotten around to it yet. This was either the first or the second article I created that style of footnote for and I've just recently been learning the new style so I was planning on going back and making all of those notes clearer. I just hadn't made it that far.

Some of the changes you made are ones that make sense and the changes to the rating system descriptions aren't bad either if you don't consider that you're changing direct quotes, so let me know what you think and I won't do any changes till I've had some time to hear back from you.

See you later, Will/Will1410 08:33, 22 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I responded here and thank you for your detailed analysis which helped me better understand your point of view and have a great day! -- Patman2648 19:23 3 April 2006 (UTC)

Badfinger

Hi Patman. I am answering your comments regarding Badfinger and the $600,000 both here and on my talk page (in case you aren't monitoring it).

I can assure you that the Rolling Stone article is wrong. It is based on off-the-cuff comments by Joey Molland. I'm sure other articles referenced Rolling Stone, but they would be equally wrong. It is an error that is feeding on itself.

Biographer Dan Matovina and myself went through the lawsuit complaint by WB with a fine-tooth comb and there was never any claim about $600,000 missing from an account. What happened is that there were two escrow accounts set up by WB Publishing: Account 1 for $500,000, Account 2 for $100,000. The first account always had a correct balance in it, with deductions being made for two Badfinger albums. WB never complained about this account. The second account, however, was completely emptied - presumably by Stan Polley. Polley was allowed to make two deductions from the second escrow account, which should have left a balance of about $83,000. So, in a sense, WB wanted to know where the $83,000 went.

When the dust settled in the late 1970s, the courts found Polley owed WB something like $45,000(?) (I can't remember now how they came up with a lower figure. I think there may have been a further deduction allowed for Head First publishing). But it has been a blatant falsehood for decades when people claim Badfinger was ripped off for "millions of dollars." When properly calculated, all actual figures are far, far lower. ZincOrbie 15:56, 3 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What say we (one of you!) copy and paste the relevant threads into Talk:Badfinger so we can discuss it in one place. This is an article issue not a personal issue :-) Kent, do you have quotable sources for what you say? (e.g. published articles or books, court reports or records). --kingboyk 16:05, 3 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Done. Bulk discussion moved to Talk: Badfinger. ZincOrbie 17:06, 3 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I gladly returned your comments here and here. I'm glad to here back from you and I look forward to hearing from you again. -- Patman2648 19:19 3 April 2006 (UTC)

Welcome to Esperanza!

Welcome, Patman2648, to Esperanza, the Wikipedia member association! As you might know, all the Esperanzians share one important goal: the success of this encyclopedia. Within that, we then attempt to strengthen the community bonds, and be the "approachable" side of the project. All of our ideals are held in the Charter, the governing document of the association.

Now that you are a member you should read the guide to what to do now or you may be interested in some of our programs. A quite important program is the StressUnit, which seeks to support editors who have encountered any stress from their Wikipedia events, and are seeking to leave the project. So far, Esperanza can be credited with the support and retention of several users. We will send you newsletters to keep you up to date. Also, we have a calendar of special events, member birthdays, and other holidays that you can add to and follow.

In addition to these projects, several more missions of Esperanza are in development, and are currently being created at Esperanza/Possibles.

I encourage you to take an active voice in the running of Esperanza. We have a small government system, headed by our Administrator general, Celestianpower, and guided by the Advisory Committee comprised of JoanneB, FireFox and Titoxd. The next set of elections are right now.

If you have any other questions, concerns, comments, or general ideas, Esperanzian or otherwise, know that you can always contact Celestianpower by email or talk page or the Esperanza talk page. Alternatively, you could communicate with fellow users via our IRC channel, #wikipedia-esperanza (which is also good for a fun chat or two :). If you're new to IRC, please see the IRC tutorial. I thank you for joining Esperanza, and look forward to working with you in making Wikipedia a better place to work!

the current template

Hi Patman2648, the {{current}} template is normally used, perhaps counter intuitively, for articles that are receiving a spate of editing in response to suddenly getting a higher profile in the outside world in order to inform readers that they are unstable. It is not for every article dealing with a current event. Both Ituri conflict and Lord's Resistance Army get almost no editing attention and I have thus removed the template from these articles. Barnstar

Thank you very much for the recognition. It has been very trying lately as a prominant user has informed us that the use of team logos on league pages and playoff charts is considered a copyright violation and the logos should be reserved for team articles or stubs. This has set back my goal of having complete historical W-L-T records for all important CDN junior leagues, as I have been stuck creating an excessive amount of stubs to save these logos. I take a great amount of pride in my work with the WP: Ice Hockey, and I feel priviledged that you noticed my efforts. Again, thank you. DMighton 05:14, 3 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Esperanza Newsletter, Issue #3

The Administrator Coaching program is a program aimed at preparing Wikipedians for Adminship or helping them understand the intricacies of Wikipedia better. Recently, changes have been made to the requirements of coachees. Please review them before requesting this service.
This would be something like the Welcoming Committee, but for people who have figured out the basics of editing articles; they're not newcomers any more, but they might want some help in learning new roles. Some might like suggestions about how to learn vandal patrol, or mentoring on taking an article to featured status, or guidance with a proposal they plan to make at the Village Pump, for example. In this way, Esperanza would help keep hope alive for Wikipedia because we would always be grooming the next generation of admins.
The Stressbusters are a subset of Esperanza aiming to investigate the causes of stress. New eyes on the situation are always welcome!
Note from the editor
As always, MiszaBot handled this delivery. Thank you! Also, congratulations go to Pschemp, Titoxd and Freakofnurture for being elected in the last elections! An Esperanzial May to all of the readership!

  3. Various revisions have been made to the Code of Conduct. Please see them, as the proposal is ready to be ratified by the community and enacted. All members will members to have to re-confirm their membership after accepting the Code of Conduct.

A short Esperanzial update

As you may have gathered, discussions have been raging for about a week on the Esperanza talk page as to the future direction of Esperanza. Some of these are still ongoing and warrant more input (such as the idea to scrap the members list altogether). However, some decisions have been made and the charter has hence been amended. See what happened. Basically, the whole leadership has had a reshuffle, so please review the new, improved charter.

As a result, we are electing 4 people this month. They will replace JoanneB and Pschemp and form a new tranche A, serving until December. Elections will begin on 2006-07-02 and last until 2006-07-09. If you wish to run for a Council position, add your name to the list before 2006-07-02. For more details, see Wikipedia:Esperanza/June 2006 elections.

The problem I have with the old image is that it does not fit well into the infobox that is being used on this article, and the more wide angle shot is better there, but if you insist I'll try and find a wide angle shot with more of his face in it.

  • That image is alright, but I would rather have one of him with his guitar, like this one.

Eric and Derek

Hi Patman - only just spotted yr query on my user page -- sorry -- havent checked Wiki in weeks. My recollection is that it was contained in an old R&R encyclopedia article (possibly the old NME Encyclopedia of Rock) but it's been years since I first read it. However I'm pretty certain of my recollection of the story -- i.e. the original name was to be Eric & The Dynamos, but the MC at their first(?) gig mispronounced it, hence "Derek ...".

Anyway, I'll do my best to track that down and get proper attribution ASAP. Cheers!

Program Feature: To-Do List
The Esperanza To-Do List is a place where you may list any request, big or small, for assistance. If you need help with archiving your usertalk, for example, all you need to do is list it here and somebody will help you out. Likewise, if you need help with some area of editing on Wikipedia, list it here! Again, any matter, trivial or not, can be placed on this page. However, all matters listed on this page must not be of an argumentative nature. You do not need to be a member of Esperanza (or this program) to place or fulfill requests on this page. If you don't have any requests, consider coming by and fulfilling a few! This program has not been very active, but has lots of potential!
What's New?
In order to help proposed programs become specific enough to make into full-fledged programs, the In development section of the proposals page has been created. Proposals that are promising, but need to be organized in more detail are listed here. Please take a look at what is there, and help the proposals turn into programs.
To improve both the layout and text of the front page, in an attempt to clarify the image of Esperanza, the front page is going to have some redesigning take place. Please take your creative minds to Wikipedia:Esperanza/Front page redesign to brainstorm good ideas.
Many thanks to MiszaBot, courtesy of Misza13, for delivering the newsletter.
  1. In order to make sure all users who join Esperanza are welcomed, a list of volunteers who are willing to welcome new Esperanzians is at Wikipedia:Esperanza/Members#Esperanza_welcomers. Please add yourself if you are interested; we want to make sure all new Esperanza members are welcomed!

  3. Proposals page: Some proposals have been moved to the aforementioned "In development" section, some have been left as a proposal, and others have been archived. For those proposals that were a good idea but didn't necessarily constitute a program, General Esperanzial Actions has been created.
  4. Two small pieces of charter reform will be decided on in a straw poll at Wikipedia talk:Esperanza/Governance. One involves filling the position of any councillors who may leave, the other involves reforming the charter.

Notice to Guitarist Project members

September Esperanza Newsletter

Program Feature: Barnstar Brigade
Here in Wikipedia there are hundreds of wikipedians whose work and efforts go unappreciated. One occasionally comes across editors who have thousands of good edits, but because they may not get around as much as others, their contributions and hard work often go unnoticed. As Esperanzians we can help to make people feel appreciated, be it by some kind words or the awarding of a Barnstar. This is where the Barnstar Brigade comes in. The object of this program is to seek out the people which deserve a Barnstar, and help them feel appreciated. With your help, we can recognize more dedicated editors!
What's New?
September elections are upon us! Anyone wishing to be a part of the Advisory Council may list themselves as a candidate from 18 September until 24 September, with the voting taking place from 25 September to 30 September. Those who wish to help with the election staff should also list themselves!
Appreciation Week, a program currently in development, now has its own subpage! Share your good ideas on how to make it awesome there!
The Esperanza front page has been redesigned! Many thanks to all who worked hard on it.
Many thanks to MiszaBot, courtesy of Misza13, for delivering the newsletter.
  1. The proposals page has been updated, with some proposals being archived.

Unspecified source for Image:Jeff Beckb&w.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Jeff Beckb&w.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Abu Badali 12:16, 25 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please speedily delete, unneeded image which has incorrect tag. Thanks - Patman2648 22:55, 25 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Would you be interested...

I have taken a look at your contributions, and I am quite impressed. Although you don't have a huge edit count, you've contributed a lot more to Wikipedia than several admins I've looked at. The sheer amount and quality of the content you've written amazes me. So, would you accept a nomination from me for adminship? -- Cielomobile minor7♭5 04:46, 6 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Oh dear that's probably the most kind and wonderful gesture anyone could make towards me but I have to regretfully decline the nomination. I love wikipedia, the community and wonderful editors like you but I don't believe that I am not 100% prepared to be an administrator. Albeit I may have quality edits the quantity is most likely too small for many people to accept (even me) and I'm also not a very substantial vandal slayer sadly more of wikifairy (hehe) although I do plenty of vandal warnings and vandal removal. I really appreciate the nomination and would be extremely grateful if you would be willing to re-nominate me in several months preferably in January. Thank you again and best of luck! - Patman2648 07:44, 6 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
You bet, I'll keep an eye on you ;). -- Cielomobile minor7♭5 06:00, 7 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please provided detailed fair use rationale for each picture in Derek and the Dominos

I see you've done so for one picture already, but you or any other editor needs to provide detailed fair use rationale (see the first picture in the infobox) for each picture in the article, or the article must be removed from GA status. This was brought to my attention by another reviewer, so please, provide the rationale, because I would hate to see such a nice article be removed on mere technicalities. -- Cielomobile talk / contribs 01:47, 9 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I will provide fair use rationale as soon as possible. I was able to get one done before I went to bed last night around 2ish and today I was out of the house the entire day so I had no time to finish it. But I'll continue updating the pics. Thanks for the heads up and giving me enough time to complete the task. Thanks and best of luck! - Patman2648 02:57, 9 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

RfA thanks from StuffOfInterest

Thank you for participating in my RfA, which finished with a tally of 52/6/1 (~90%). It was an interesting process which gave me a chance to learn a bit about myself and about the community. My intention now is to slowly ease into using those additional buttons on my page. No use being over eager and mucking up the works. The support of all those who went over my record and/or rallied to my defense after the big oppose vote was instumental to the success of this review. Again, thank you! --StuffOfInterest 11:33, 10 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

November Esperanza Newsletter

Program Feature: Admin Coaching (needs coaches!)
Admin Coaching needs coaches!!! If you are an administrator, or even a generally experienced user, do consider signing up to be a coach.

Admin Coaching, now being coordinated by HighwayCello, is a program for people who want help learning some of the more subtle aspects of Wikipedia policy and culture. People are matched with experienced users who are willing to offer coaching. The program is designed for people who have figured out the basics of editing articles; they're not newcomers any more, but they might want some help in learning new roles. In this way, Esperanza would help keep hope alive for Wikipedia because we would always be grooming the next generation of admins.

What's New?
The Tutorial Drive is a new Esperanza program! In an effort to make complicated processes on Wikipedia easier for everyone, Esperanza working to create and compile a list of tutorials about processes here on Wikipedia. Consider writing one!
A discussion on how Esperanza relates to the encyclopedia has been started; please add your thoughts.
Many thanks to MiszaBot, courtesy of Misza13, for delivering the newsletter.
  • The list of proposed programs has been updated, with some proposals being archived.
  • There is now a new program: the Tutorial Drive! Consider writing a tutorial on something you are good at doing on Wikipedia.
  • The suggestion of adding a cohesive look to all the Esperanza pages is being considered; join the discussion if you are interested!
  • In order to make a useful interlanguage welcome template, those involved in translation projects will be asked what English Wikipedia policies are most important and confusing to editors coming from other language Wikipedias.
  • A discussion of Esperanza's role in Wikipedia is being held, with all thoughts of all Esperanzians wanted!
  • Shreshth91 informed everyone that he will be leaving the Esperanza council as life is rather busy; his spot will be filled by the runner up from the last election, HighwayCello.

Image:Trans-trem.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Trans-trem.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Chowbok 21:23, 15 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I added fair use rationale, one of the few images where I had forgot to, thank you for notifying me so that I could alleviate the situation. Thanks again. - Patman2648 22:13, 18 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Don't worry about the tag: a lot of people make that mistake. The thing is, though, that the fair use justifictaion isn't really relevant here; the point is that we could replace it with a free image. —Chowbok 04:57, 19 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your support!

A week ago I nominated myself, hoping to be able to help Wikipedia as an administrator as much as a WikiGnome. I am very glad many others shared my thoughts, including you. Thank you for your trust! Be sure I will use these tools to protect and prevent and not to harass or punish. Should you feel I am overreacting, pat me so that I can correct myself. Thanks again! And glad of being of help with the album templates! ReyBrujo 23:26, 18 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject Munich

Would you be interested in helping out atWikiProject Munich? And you don't have to know anything about Munich. Maybe you could help out on bringing Munich-related articles up to Wikipedia Policies and guidlines standards or maybe another area where you could help improve Munich-related articles. Music articles

I just saw that you're kind of interested in getting some of Claptons works like Blind faith and Derek and the Dominoes to better quality. If you need any help with those, just let me know and I'll see what I can do: if its editing or just voting aye. RENTASTRAWBERRY FOR LET? röck 23:47, 14 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

My RfA

Hey Patman,

I just would like to thank you for your support in my recent request for adminship, which passed with a final tally of 54/13/11. I appreciate the trust expressed by members of the community, and will do my best to uphold it.

Naturally, I am still becoming accustomed to using the new tools, so if you have suggestions or feedback, or need anything please let me know. - Gilliam 21:03, 5 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Patman2648. An automated process has found and removed a fair use image used in your userspace. The image (Image:1915 Dance by Rodchenko.jpg) was found at the following location: User talk:Patman2648. This image was removed per criterion number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image was replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg, so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. Please find a free image to replace it with. Thanks for uploading Image:Yardbirds including Clapton.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 16:40, 30 May 2007 (UTC). Non-free use disputed for Image:Yardbirds including Clapton.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Yardbirds including Clapton.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —Angr 16:40, 30 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
