Plac Wilsona (Polish for Wilson Square) is the main square of Warsaw's borough of Żoliborz. It is also one of the main transportation hubs of the city, with several bus and tramway stops located there (opened to the public on June 1, 1934).
It was built in late 1920's as the main centre of the newly-founded borough and one of the star-shaped squares that sprung up all over Warsaw. Originally named after president of the United States Woodrow Wilson, after the World War II in 1951 it was renamed to Plac Komuny Paryskiej (Paris Commune Square). In 1991 the original name was reintroduced.
