Strange One

[5] a funny addition to Cultural impact of the Falklands War, see also [6]. Seems to have added a lot of regiments to the Order of Battle. What do you think, a wikifiddler or is it genuine information? Wee Curry Monster talk 07:43, 11 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • After reviewing the first problematic edit, it is my unequivical opinion that these spanish speaking Argies editor has always been pushing it on English Wikipedia, first with their nationalistic view (in clear violation of WP:NPOV) and now with an animation about a war that had them confused about who the real victims are, and although I don't really agree with their stupidity doing this I like how they chose to SPAM these nonsensical things when they have nothing else substanstial to add to the old argument knowing full well they were really the aggressor pushed by a dictator general to wage a war against common sense and consensus. Now that's a real world scenario where WP:STICK is applicable if they so chose it but being Non-NPOV as they are, I highly doubt they would in any case. As for Grecco-Turk related article pages, same as any other Balkan powder keg... I'd rather not get involved, these guys are mad I tell you! --Dave ♠♣♥♦™№1185©♪♫® 02:05, 12 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

User talk:DBigXray

Thanks for trying to tone down his aggression. Much appreciated. He's following all my edits and making complain sections in the all of the talk pages even though I am in a habit of citing whatever content I add, but this gets really annoying. He actually deleted a whole paragraph from an article and gave it a cover up of linking a wiki article to some other text simultaneously. I've been every ready for discussions on the article talk pages. --lTopGunl (talk) 11:26, 12 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Yeah, as you know he's a newbie so go easy on him, talk to him as if he is your best friend, win him over by explaining to him all the relevant and intricate Wiki policies relating to the health of an article's content. I can see that he's open to explanation, provided we furnish a step-by-step go through with him. Buzz me again if necessary. Best. --Dave ♠♣♥♦™№1185©♪♫® 11:33, 12 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Raj, in case you didn't notice... Hassan didn't interrupt us during your conversation with me when I was talking to you on your talk page, why are you interrupting us over here? I'd have expected the same from you on mine when he's talking to me and to be honest, I'm very disappointed in you. Please respect others first if you want them to reciprocrate, and if you keep behaving in such a combative manner then I guarantee you that you'll be out of Wikipedia by the end this month. No need to reply here again, suffice that you just state it so on your talk page. --Dave ♠♣♥♦™№1185©♪♫® 14:08, 12 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • i did not mean to disturb you. sorry but from what i have read about wiki rules i came to know that talk pages are place for discussion (not just a one on one chat), still i responded as the matter was about me.in any case this my last message here (the next if any) will be on my talk page--dBigXray (talk) 16:07, 12 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Not all the rules applies, sometimes... especially when it was obvious I was talking to you on your talk page and he didn't once barged into our conversations and started accusing you of anything, do you see what you did above now? Why must you do it here? You have no respect for me? --Dave ♠♣♥♦™№1185©♪♫® 16:12, 12 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Wiki-stalking/Wiki-hounding

Hi Dave. The text below is quite long and is infact not your problem. But since you've been mentoring him since some time, I'd like to ask you what to do. Kindly check.

Inspite of my repeated warnings, dbigxray is continuously wiki-stalking & wiki-hounding me just because he couldn't resolve the matter on the talk pages as early as he wanted. [7] [8] [9] [10] [11].

On the relevant articles, commenting is one thing (yes he might be right on some occasions, but trivially that's why a discussion on talk page is taking place), but starting sections like "edits by 'so n so user'" and then posting a copy paste of that everywhere has pushed my patience over. Yet I have not made any inflamatory remarks on any talk page against him.

You can see him continuously campaigning on the talkpage (and editing) each and every article I have edited (regardless of the fact that his comments have no relation to pages) like [12]. The 'non-reliable' sources he's mentioning aren't even being used here and in so many other pages of which I have now lost count.

Edited my talk page [13] [14] [15] to put up with the harassment campaign and spammed it with the same issue about pakdef.info's reliablilty which I was readily discussing on the articles to which it was cited. Infact I even let them be making no more edits since at least yesterday. Yet there's no way that I can stop him of pursuing wp:canvassing.

And then after I got tired of his repeated comments, I told him politely not to edit my talk page again soon after which he posted the same spam on my page [16]. He also disrupted the article in question [17] and added unattributed content even though a clear consensus was just established with other editors on the talk page [18].

Also, I'll like to add his hostile attitude in his initial interaction with me [19] assuming vandalism instead of good faith. At another point in the same initial interaction he warned me about removing content from my own talk page, when it is trivial that diffs are always there and I'm not hiding something [20].

I've exhausted all ways of explanations and warnings, and I'm sure he will continue to keep this campaign going since he goes for an edit war as soon as I revert & talk on page (see the references provided). I would like to report him if there's no other way to stop because I'm sure he simply stalks my contributions. --lTopGunl (talk) 23:13, 16 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

As I said, he needs watching - using a placard as a ref, and non-English at that? Minor correction requested

Could you correct this please? It was me, not Vsmith who blocked. Thanks. --John (talk) 17:39, 12 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. --John (talk) 17:55, 12 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, of course. Anybody can make a mistake. No problem. --John (talk) 18:33, 12 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Dave. You're quite right, Cornell University doesn't own the word. If you're sure that there is no primary topic for Cornell, do you have time to help repair the incoming links so they point to the University again? This tool has some helpful statistics and links. Contact fuse

Yes, I know it should be fuze but we have a skeleton theorist claiming that per WP:ENGVAR it should be fuse. Comment by someone with knowledge at Talk:Contact fuse to restore my faith in humanity would be welcome. Wee Curry Monster talk 11:19, 15 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Oxford American Dictionary lists it as:
fuze |fyoōz| - noun - variant spelling of fuse 2 .
the main entry is under fuse.
Check more quality dictionaries.
--Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 11:48, 15 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
See the archives in Talk:Fuze, particularly past discussions about the OED. Every other wikipedia article bar this one uses fuze and its fuze throughout the document. Every time a move is tried a bunch of the non-involved come out to frustrate it. A fuse is an electronic component, the fact the yanks call it a fuze is immaterial. Wee Curry Monster talk 17:56, 15 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
People seem incapable of understanding there is a difference between a length of saltpetre soaked string per Fuse (explosives) and a complex device for detonating the explosive charge in a weapon per Fuze. Wee Curry Monster talk 18:21, 15 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
