Vera Wang is American

While technically correct, I don't understand the need to identify the American-born Ms. Wang as "a Chinese-American" while Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein are simply identified as "American". For the sake of uniformity, we should identify Mr. Klein as "Jewish-Hungarian-American fashion designer" or simply refer to Ms. Wang as "American".--Brendanmccabe (talk) 14:04, 16 August 2011 (UTC)

Her nationality is not Chinese-American, it's American. It's not possible anyways to have one's nationality be Chinese-American as China doesn't allow dual-citizenships.

Although she is of Chinese ancestry, Vera Wang is unequivocally American: she was born in the US, she was raised in the US, and she lives and works in the US. She is, both figuratively and literally, American. And based on other comments, I see I 'm not the only one who understands and appreciates this fact.75.27.41.134 (talk) 17:42, 10 January 2012 (UTC)

I don't think anyone had been trying to deny Ms. Wang as an American, "Chinese American" is, at least in my background, a popular term to illustrate some american citizen of Chinese ancestry just like "African American".
