State of Genera lists in family articles
Not including monogeneric families. I'm afraid things leave much to be desired, and I can hardly proceed without reasonably accurate lists of genera-by-family... Circéus (talk) 16:11, 24 March 2011 (UTC)
:Ok, give me a day or two. Sasata (talk) 16:22, 24 March 2011 (UTC)
::Also, you migth want to review what we had unearthed while working on Marasmiaceae, as it is relevant to some cases here. Circéus (talk) 16:49, 24 March 2011 (UTC)
I think we want three crucial things here:
#Any given genus is listed for one and one family only (or incertae sedis).
##The genus article does not conflict with the family one.
#We list as many genera in the article as the number we have in text.
#The number in family articles is the same as in List of Agaricales genera (noting where the numbers of genera in a family differ from the number in that entry for the Dict.).
Beyond that there are places where practical choices will have to be made, as you noted about Hormographiella. I suspect Entolomataceae might come down to what is simplest for us (e.g. if in some case most species don't have names under Entoloma, as happens with Endoptychum). Circéus (talk) 20:43, 24 March 2011 (UTC)

*Hmmm, Crepidotaceae and Chromocyphellaceae need to be added to various places, according to this ... the work keeps piling up ... Sasata (talk) 00:05, 25 March 2011 (UTC)
**Maybe we should stay with Kirk & al.'s Inocybaceae here, but maybe that's just my instinct. These devellopment are really nothing short of a Fungal equivalent of the APG revolution, but they lack a "central synthesis", with Kirk & al. slow to take up on these changes. Circéus (talk) 00:22, 25 March 2011 (UTC)
***Yeah, I dunno. From the paper: "The present investigation serves to highlight a number of contentious issues relating to recent molecular studies of the Crepidotaceae in particular, and molecular systematics in general: As has been shown before, taxon sampling is of crucial importance, and the addition of various key taxa may have considerable influence on the resulting phylogenetic hypotheses. In this study, most of the investigations differ widely in their choice of ingroup (and outgroup) taxa, leading to widely different hypotheses of higher-level relationships." So all this work may have to be revised in the future. This sort of stuff is why I find it easier to work on single species, despite my "mission" to fill out the higher-level taxa. Ok, that's enough for me today, I feel like doing something else :) Sasata (talk) 00:46, 25 March 2011 (UTC)
****What where Kirk & al. thinking anyway? You can't synonymize Crepidotaceae under Inocybaceae under any rule of the code! Circéus (talk) 00:51, 25 March 2011 (UTC)
****Having thought about it a bit more, how about we keep everything in Crepidotaceae (=? Inocybaceae sensu Kirk & al.) with commentary to the effect the family is known to be polyphyletic, but an final disposition has yet to be agreed on? It's already what we do about Cystodermateae and Endoptychum (at least in List of Agaricaceae genera), for example. Circéus (talk) 13:20, 25 March 2011 (UTC)
*****Sound good to me. I will try to sort out Amylocorticiales, Crepidotaceae, Inocybaceae, and Chromocyphellaceae today. Sasata (talk) 13:24, 25 March 2011 (UTC)
*Ok, I started an article at Amylocorticiales (will be adding more over the next few days). Any opinion on how we should handle the taxonomy of genera within? Give family as incertae sedis, and redirect Amylocorticiaceae to Amylocorticiales? Sasata (talk) 17:13, 25 March 2011 (UTC)
**When I read it, it seemed pretty obvious they were better circumscribing Amylocorticiaceae and moving it to a monotypic order. The only genera that could be said to become incertae sedis would be those (if any) that they excluded from Amylocorticiaceae without assigning them a putative family. Circéus (talk) 18:31, 25 March 2011 (UTC)
*So apparently Cribbea 10.1071/SB07041. This is convenient (if correct: I don,t have access to that journal) as it resets Cortinariaceae to the correct number of genera, but it threatens Physalacriaceae with Cribbeaceae. w00t! </sarcasm> Circéus (talk) 13:42, 28 March 2011 (UTC)
**What fun would it be if it wasn't a challenge? I don't have access to that journal, but I know who does. I'll ask if I can get it and update the page. Sasata (talk) 14:54, 28 March 2011 (UTC)
***I got the paper from Cas (very nice paper, BTW), and yes, it's clearly in the Physalacriaceae, pretty close to Oudemansiella. Sasata (talk) 14:50, 29 March 2011 (UTC)
*For Bolbitiaceae, I'll start work and add a note on the Agaricales families list about the 17 v. 15 discrepancy. For Entolomataceae, the Wikipedia way is typically "when in doubt, be conservative", so going with six genera and noting the dict. disagreement is a reasonable approach. I'll be waiting on a usable combined list for Inocybaceae and Crepidotaceae at the latter before I start on it. This leaves me with a reasonable buffer to work on.Circéus (talk) 19:30, 30 March 2011 (UTC)
**Actually, having now looked at Co-David & al., I say we go with three genera (Clitop., Entol., Rhodocybella), since they made all the necessary combination (they suspect Rhodocybella to fall in Clitopilus, but keep it separate for now). I've edited the family list accordingly, and will now do the same for the generic list. Circéus (talk) 12:58, 4 April 2011 (UTC)
*Which author is being followed for Hygrophoraceae? Not only is the number of genera in the lead not that of the Dict., but we list 11 in the taxobox, which, although the number given in dict., are definitely not those placed there in that work. Circéus (talk) 00:01, 7 April 2011 (UTC)
**Some investigation here: We have Pseudoarmillariella under Tricholomataceae (including the list of genera), but it seems to belong fairly clearly in Hygrophoraceae. That genus is unplaced in the Dict., which recognizes Cuphophyllus, but that recognition seems unwarranted. If we add Camarophyllus and Gliophorus, but exclude Camarophyllopsis, we get 11 genera: the 10 from Dict. with three extra (Pseudoarm., Camarophyllus, Gl.) and two cut off (Cuph., Camarophyllopsis; the first seems doomed to synonymy, the second belongs somewhere else not yet clear) , . I will be working with that. Circéus (talk) 18:26, 7 April 2011 (UTC)
***Hi Circeus, I'm still with you, just devoting my limited wiki-time to finishing a primate article offline. Will get back into Agaricales once this monkey is off my back (lol). Sasata (talk) 16:43, 8 April 2011 (UTC)
****It's okay. As it is, it appears the one part where your input will be really needed are the Physalacriaceae, Inocybaceae/Crepidotaceae and Strophariaceae. I'm Probably going to have to expand a ridiculous amount of energy figuring out what's going on with Maccagnia too. Circéus (talk) 16:55, 8 April 2011 (UTC)

| In Matheny et al., 2006, they showed that Galerina, Phaeocollybia, Psilocybe (bluing ones), Anamika, Hebeloma, Alnicola, and Flammula cluster in a branch that is sister to the Stropharicaceae sensu strico. However, no formal familial change was made, and the Dict. classification does not follow this phylogeny (and they do state explicitly that they have taken into account the molecular results from that 2006 issue of Mycologia where several higher-level phylogenetics papers were published.) How to approach this on Wikipedia? About a year ago someone from the Matheny lab changed the families for these genera to Hymenogastraceae; I changed some of them back, because I wasn't convinced in some cases (i.e., the type species wasn't used in the analysis). Are we in limbo until the next phylogenetics paper comes out?
:I think following either is fine. Looks like an editorial, not formal scientific choice on the part of Kirk & al., and either choice is phylogenetically valid, plus the study actually says (probably accounting for Kirk & al.'s approach): "Indeed Bayesian analyses [...] significantly support [...] the union of Hymenogastraceae and Strophariaceae s. str. A recent 25S rRNA only analysis suggested a rather inclusive treatment of the Strophariaceae."

So I've just finished adding all I could, except for Physalacriaceae, Strophariaceae (incl. Hemigasteraceae) and Crepidotaceae (incl. Inocybaceae), for which (as said above) I'm reliant on you to establish lists of genera we are reasonably happy with. If Crepidotaceae ends up above 20 genera or so, I'll make it a separate list. Circéus (talk) 23:53, 17 April 2011 (UTC)
:Speaking of your Russulales idea, I'd make it a combined list for families and Genera, or at least consider it as a possibility. However, I notice the article clearly states Clavicorona ought to be in the Agaricales, but I can't find a family placement for it (except MycoBank, in the Tricholomataceae, but I don't trust it all that much). Hi Sasata. A summary of a Featured Article you conominated at WP:FAC will appear on the Main Page soon. It mostly follows the lead section; how does it look? (Feel free to ping Casliber if you like, I gave him one earlier and I'm trying to spread out the workload.) I'm not getting many ghits on "scarlet-stemmed bolete", apart from ones with similar text to the Wikipedia article, and generally there's a "no aliases" rule at TFA. I bend the rule for a common name in addition to a scientific name, but I don't want to break the rule. - Dank (push to talk) 16:03, 8 August 2015 (UTC)

:I thought the same myself about G. lividus. I still have a bit of stuff to add, but GA is probably a good end goal for the time being. Will have a look at the others when I get back from travelling. Sasata (talk) 14:20, 12 October 2015 (UTC)

:::Yes, I did have that bolete on a to-do list. The synonymy is imposing. Why is Fungorum still calling it a Boletus? Another option is Rubroboletus satanas, now that it has a nice new genus. Sasata (talk) 16:12, 17 October 2015 (UTC)
::::I want to do Rubroboletus satanas at some point, just frustrating that no-one has published the split and recognition of North American satanas as eastwoodiae (have they??) - as soon as that is done, I reckon we buff it in a flash. Xerocomus subtomentosus looks best bet for next, other possibles include Hygrophoropsis aurantiaca too...? Or...anyway, there are a bunch. == WikiCup 2016 is just around the corner... ==

Hello everyone, and we would like to wish you all a happy holiday season. As you will probably already know, the 2016 WikiCup begins in the new year; there is still time to sign up. There are some changes we'd like to announce before the competition begins.

After two years of serving as WikiCup judge, User:Miyagawa has stepped down as judge. He deserves great thanks and recognition for his dedication and hard work, and for providing necessary transition for a new group of judges in last year's Cup. Joining Christine (User:Figureskatingfan) and Jason (User:Sturmvogel 66) is Andrew (User:Godot13), a very successful WikiCup competitor and expert in Featured Pictures; he won the two previous competitions. This is a strong judging team, and we anticipate lots of enjoyment and good work coming from our 2016 competitors.

We would also like to announce one change in how this year's WikiCup will be run. In the spirit of sportsmanship, Godot13 and Cwmhiraeth have chosen to limit their participation. See here for the announcement and a complete explanation of why. They and the judges feel that it will make for a more exciting, enjoyable, and productive competition.

The discussions/polls concerning the next competition's rules will be closed soon, and rules changes will be made clear on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Scoring and talk pages. The judges are committed to not repeating the confusion that occurred last year and to ensuring that the new rules are both fair and in the best interests of the competition, which is, first and foremost, about improving Wikipedia.

If you have any questions or concerns, the judges can be reached on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, on their talk pages, or by email. We hope you will all join us in trying to make the 2015 WikiCup the most productive and enjoyable yet. <small>You are receiving this message because you are listed on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send.</small> Sturmvogel 66 (talk), Figureskatingfan (talk), and Godot13 (talk).--MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 06:47, 22 December 2015 (UTC)

I've been writing out the taxonomic history (Wulfen 1781 is quite good for anecdotes actually - might be good to see what he covers WRT other species for fun), so if it ignites some enthusiasm to get it towards FAC then that's great. == Sarcoscypha coccinea ==
I disagree with your repeated removal of the taxonbar template on Sarcoscypha coccinea. Of all the articles this infobox has been added to, you are the only person who has taken it down. Much like Authority Control, taxonbar has a very useful purpose for facilitating further research and checking on current taxonomic treatment. I feel your changes to the External link section have damaged the article. You said "all useful links already included" but you then proceeded to remove other useful links and replace them with links such as Encyclopedia of Life which you pulled from the taxonbar infobox.--MCEllis (talk) 18:50, 22 March 2016 (UTC)
:I disagree with your repeated addition of the taxonbar template on Sarcoscypha coccinea. "taxonbar has a very useful purpose for facilitating further research" Says who? In what way is it "very useful" if it duplicates links already in the article? "but you then proceeded to remove other useful links" Such as? Links that were already included in the article? ::I feel at least half of these were useful links and should have remained. How is it useful? It adds links to taxonomic databases regarding the taxon that otherwise could only be found in the article in the very long references section. I really don't want to fight with you but I do hope some of the links you have removed can be restored.--MCEllis (talk) 20:23, 22 March 2016 (UTC)
::Most of the links taxonbar added were not actually in the article originally as you claim. Taxonbar added the EoL link, the GBIF link, and the NCBI link. Each can be argued to be important for researchers. I only wish you could see how much this could help other fungi articles.--MCEllis (talk) 20:32, 22 March 2016 (UTC)
:::The link to H.O. Baral 2004 is already included in the article. The link to Tom Volk's Fungus of the Month does not offer anything substantial to the article. Same with the MykoWeb link. (see WP:ELNO for further guidance about when external links are useful). The link to the three unannotated photos does not offer anything to increase reader understanding. Most of our readers are general audience, not "researchers". I am a "researcher" and do not generally find links to EoL, GBIF, and NCBI useful. If you truly believe your taxon bar is helpful to "researchers" (I do not think so when it duplicates existing links), then why not hold an RfC, persuade the community with your arguments, and try to have it installed on all taxon articles? == Illustration for Nolanea ==
Hello. You have removed a photo from the Nolanea page on the grounds that Index Fungorum classifies the species in the photo as Entoloma. But Nolanea is an old genus name and all its species are currently officially in genus Entoloma, so by that argument we cannot have an illustration of Nolanea at all in the article. The article and the name are important for historical reasons and because the name is still used as a sub-genus in keys. Could you put back the photo or provide another one? Strobilomyces (talk) 17:32, 10 April 2016 (UTC)
:Nolanea is considered valid by Index Fungorum, who accept 20 species in the genus. The photo I removed was of "Nolanea mammosa", which is classified in Entoloma. I will put in a picture a Nolanea species (as currently accepted) if I can find one. Sasata (talk) 18:03, 10 April 2016 (UTC)
::Sorry, I hadn't realized that Nolanea species were accepted in Species Fungorum. That would define a different meaning than the normal one I know, which is a sub-genus of Entoloma containing well-defined mushrooms which are officially in genus Entoloma. I need more time to check, but I still don't think it is a real genus; I think those species are only known from old descriptions and if it were possible to identify them as current mushrooms, they would be reclassified as Entoloma. I corrected my spelling mistake above. Strobilomyces (talk) 20:10, 12 April 2016 (UTC)
:::Have you seen the 2014 Henkel et al. Mycotaxon paper? (10.5248/129.119) They summarize the generic status of Nolanea as follows: "The few molecular systematics studies published on Entolomataceae have proved rather equivocal regarding the status of Nolanea at the generic or subgeneric levels (e.g., Co-David et al. 2009; Baroni & Matheny 2011; He et al. 2013). Other preliminary molecular data support entolomatoid fungi with Nolanea’s morphological diagnostic characters as a genus (Bergemann & Largent unpubl.)." They described 10 new Nolanea species using Largent's generic concept (Entolomatoid Fungi of the Western United States and Alaska, 1994). <s>I can send you the Henkel paper if you're interested.</s> A PDF is available here. I agree with what you say about the species known only from older descriptions. Sasata (talk) 02:50, 13 April 2016 (UTC)
::::Now I have looked at the "Henkel et al." paper and there is no disagreement about which group of mushrooms is meant by the term Nolanea; the disagreement is just whether Nolanea should be a genus or whether it is a subgenus of Entoloma. For instance if we consider a better-known species like "Entoloma hirtipes (Schumach.) M.M. Moser", Henkel et al. would say that it should be called Nolanea hirtipes, whereas the Species Fungorum camp put it in Entoloma. The Nolanea page in Index Fungorum shows that they do not recognize Nolanea as a genus.
::::But Henkel et al. have defined some new species of Nolanea - claviformis, furcata, mimiae, rava and sinuolata. Index Fungorum cannot make an entry for Entoloma claviformis (for instance) because it always has to give the author reference information to a valid description of the combined name. Doubtless no-one from the Nolanea-not-a-genus camp has written one for that species yet. Eventually someone will do so and Species Fungorum will then change the current name to Entoloma claviforme.
::::I think that the Wikipedia article still should describe this group of mushrooms, whether it is a genus or a sub-genus - and a picture of any of the species in the sub-genus would be a valid illustration. Also the article should at least say that Nolanea is often considered a sub-genus of Entoloma, as in the Kuo and Index Fungorum references.

vauthors vs. authors
Per your recent reverts of mine (from my vauthors to your authors), doing so removes all author information from the citation template's metadata. This information did not make it (yet?) into the maintenance category page, presumably due to improper wording and inflection (discussion here). As long as you're aware of this and ok with it, that's fine (though others in favor of complete metadata probably won't be). I'll refrain from changing existing authors into vauthors for the time being. &nbsp;&nbsp;<b>~</b>&nbsp;<font style="font-family:Monotype Corsiva; font-size:16px;">Tom.Reding (talk ⋅dgaf)</font>&nbsp; 16:55, 24 May 2016 (UTC)
:I don't really care about template metadata. I'm more concerned that the removal of the trailing period after the author names renders the citation formatting on the page inconsistent; this is an issue especially with FAs, where a consistent citation style is required. Could you possibly not remove the trailing period so I don't have to go in later add add them back? Sasata (talk) 17:15, 24 May 2016 (UTC)
::Right now, a period at the end of the vauthors parameter causes a Vancouver style error. Also, there doesn't appear to be a "legal" way to place one there, probably because a period is rendered after the date/year, which is in parentheses after the authors (i.e. having 2 periods doesn't make grammatical sense: <code>Jones B, Smith L. (2001).</code>). If the date/year is absent, then the period is rendered automatically at the end of the author list. If consistency is the goal, then all Vancouver style author lists (even those with 1 author in a non-Vancouver parameter, like author, should have their trailing periods removed, not the other way around. Why forsake metadata at the expense of an arbitrary, and incorrect, period? &nbsp;&nbsp;<b>~</b>&nbsp;<font style="font-family:Monotype Corsiva; font-size:16px;">Tom.Reding (talk ⋅dgaf)</font>&nbsp; 18:43, 24 May 2016 (UTC)
:::As I said, I don't care about metadata (I prefer data). I'll just change vauthors to authors, as that seems to alleviate the "problem". Sasata (talk) 18:51, 24 May 2016 (UTC)
::::Why prefer an arbitrary, incorrect period, then? &nbsp;&nbsp;<b>~</b>&nbsp;<font style="font-family:Monotype Corsiva; font-size:16px;">Tom.Reding (talk ⋅dgaf)</font>&nbsp; 18:55, 24 May 2016 (UTC)
:::::Your rationale for the presence of the period being "arbitrary and incorrect" is unconvincing. Also, see WP:CITEVAR. Sasata (talk) 18:58, 24 May 2016 (UTC)
:::::: Well, parentheses are an aside. (You wouldn't put a period at the end of an aside, with no leading text, would you?).
:::::: This sentence is correct (I hope you see why). &nbsp;&nbsp;<b>~</b>&nbsp;<font style="font-family:Monotype Corsiva; font-size:16px;">Tom.Reding (talk ⋅dgaf)</font>&nbsp; 19:21, 24 May 2016 (UTC)
::::::: The author list is a horizontal list, which should have a period at the end to indicate the end of the list. The comparison to a grammatically correct sentence is invalid. Sasata (talk) 20:01, 24 May 2016 (UTC)
:::::::: edit conflict A sentence is a thought. "(2001)" potentially modifies the author-list by potentially disambiguating it from a similar list from an different year, which is why WP:CITEREF exists, i.e. <code>2001a</code>. However, <code>Jones B, Smith L. (2001).</code> needlessly disjoins the two. I'd concede <code>Jones B, Smith L. 2001.</code> or <code>Jones B, Smith L, 2001.</code>, but I don't think those are options. I'm normally agnostic when it comes to personal style preferences, but only when they make sense, which this doesn't; you can see the consensus throughout WP's citation templates. &nbsp;&nbsp;<b>~</b>&nbsp;<font style="font-family:Monotype Corsiva; font-size:16px;">Tom.Reding (talk ⋅dgaf)</font>&nbsp; 21:47, 24 May 2016 (UTC)
:::::::: Why does the presence or absence of a trailing period even matter? I am really confused. Boghog (talk) 21:32, 24 May 2016 (UTC)
:::::::: On second thought, it is pretty clear that the trailing period does not belong there. cite journal renders citations as "Author (date)<u>.</u>". There is already a period after the parenthetical date, hence the trailing period after authors is redundant. Boghog (talk) 21:48, 24 May 2016 (UTC)

:: The use of trailing periods after the authors is part of the Vancouver system where it makes grammatical sense since this period separates authors from the title. The combination of cite journal with authors or vauthors follows neither the Vancouver system nor the default WP:CS1 style, but is a hybrid. In cite journal, the date is parenthetically placed after the authors and hence sentence does not end until after the date, and hence it makes sense to place the period after the date. Placing a period before and after the date is redundant. Boghog (talk) 18:14, 25 May 2016 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. == References at Yeast ==

Hi there User:Sasata! I noticed your recent edit to Yeast changing most of the |author1=, |author2=... parameters to |authors= (and undoing most of my recent edit to the page). The reason I was drawn to the page in the first place was because it had been placed in the maintenance category CS1 maint: Multiple names in authors list. Having multiple names in the authors' list makes it impossible to extract useful metadata from the citation. Changing the parameter to |authors= instead of |author= will stop the page from triggering this error, but doesn't solve the metadata problem. Based on the conversation on your talk page above, I get the feeling that the metadata issues don't keep you up at night. So I tweaked the citations again so that punctuation after the author list is regular and author formatting is consistent throughout the page (which I hope will make you happy) and authors are split into separate parameters for metadata extraction (which will make me happy). I hope this is a happy compromise for all. If there's something else you'd like to see done with the referencing style, please feel free to let me know and I'd be happy to change it again. Thanks a bunch and happy editing! Ajpolino (talk) 23:55, 29 May 2016 (UTC)
:Hello! You seem to have reverted my changes again. I must say I don't understand. Your edit summary was " tweak authors; made formatting more consistent" but the formatting already was consistent. The only difference I can see between your recent revert and the edit I proposed above is that your revision kills the metadata (and has a period between the authors and the date, but there's no style guideline requiring that is there?). An explanation would be very much appreciated. Thanks.Ajpolino (talk) 01:30, 30 May 2016 (UTC)
::Note: I have started a discussion at Talk:Yeast#Reference_Formatting. Perhaps that is a more appropriate forum. Again, your comments would be much-appreciated. Thanks. Ajpolino (talk) 01:48, 30 May 2016 (UTC)

In order for the author names to be included in metadata the authors need to be separated. The 'vauthors' parameter is automatically parsed, while the parameter 'authors' is used for those names that are to be excluded. By reverting my edit, you are needlessly removing those authors form metadata. --Dcirovic (talk) 17:21, 4 June 2016 (UTC)

Morchella
Hi Sasata, i've been going some work trying to bring the Morchella page up to a good standard and up to date with new publications/research on the genus. However, as i am not very experienced with Wikipedia editing, i could use some help, especially with tidying up the references/bibliography and adding some images. I believe Micheli's old plates will be interesting to upload to the Morchella page, as they are the first-ever images of morels published and rather artistically exaggerated (http://bibdigital.rjb.csic.es/ing/Libro.php?Libro=2801).

Some citations are also needed in the Vernacular names section. <small class="autosigned">—&nbsp;Preceding unsigned comment added by 46.251.115.89 (talk) 07:42, 15 June 2016 (UTC)</small><!-- Template:Unsigned IP --> <!--Autosigned by SineBot-->

I think starting some pages of the new and old classical species is also in order and tried to suggest some through "Article Wizatrd", though more need to be included. I have further noticed that many of the existing pages have misidentified images uploaded, which do not correspond to the species discussed. I am not sure how to fix this problem or where to comment about it.

Thanks for your help in advance!

:Hi Michael, I'd be happy to help. I'll upload the Micheli images and tidy the citations later today. As for misidentified Morchella photos, you can leave a message on the article talk pages, and I or someone else will replace them (it would be good if you had a replacement in mind, from Wikimedia Commons or Mushroom Observer). I will also start creating some of the species that are missing pages. Sasata (talk) 14:30, 15 June 2016 (UTC)
:Do you know the specific page(s) for the morel images from the Micheli work that you'd like included? Sasata (talk) 18:16, 16 June 2016 (UTC)

Hi Sasata, thanks for your positive response and additions. When i find some time i will go through the various Morchella species pages and try to update them, also pointing out any problematic photos. There is one more rather complicated issue that needs fixing:
Morchella frustrata is confirmed by molecular data in two different papers as a later synonym of Morchlla tridentina. However, no page for Morchella tridentina currently exists, and all taxonomical, nomenclatural and morphological information is included in the M. frustrata page, which is rather confusing and misleading. In my opinion, a page for Morchella tridentina should be created, and most data transferred to it, after the text is modified accordingly to refer to the new name and page. Some basic information can remain in the M. frustrata page, with also a link to the M. tridentina page. However, since the M. frustrata page is listed as a "Good Article", and such a task requires major deletions/re-arrangements, this is a rather delicate issue, and might be a good idea if it is done by an editor. I would be happy to modify the pages accordingly if you agree with this approach and a M. tridentina page is created.

best regards,
Michael <small class="autosigned">—&nbsp;Preceding unsigned comment added by 46.251.115.89 (talk) 08:16, 18 June 2016 (UTC)</small><!-- Template:Unsigned IP --> <!--Autosigned by SineBot-->
:I'll update the Morchella frustrata/tridentina situation in the next few days; it will require changes to several pages as well as a literature update. I also have a major update and expansion planned for Morchella tomentosa too. Sasata (talk) 15:35, 18 June 2016 (UTC)

Protostropharia semiglobata
I think your edits are great, but you are reflexively undoing my edit, ignoring the summary and refusing to engage. After to-ing and fro-ing with you I don't wish to keep doing that, since it is not a big deal - but why do you keep doing that?

The first part of my edit is: the common name Kenny G. This seems to have developed on the shroomery website, or that is where it is described, and kids looking for magic mushrooms have a rhyming slang from "semi G" that is also a slightly insulting reference to the artist Kenny G. It is legitimate and the reasons amused me, and I updated it because a group of young foragers used the term with a straight face. I would understand an objection to a relative neologism but asked you to explain.

The second part relates to abbreviating the genus name before it has been referenced there. In the first mention of a species in Stropharia I simply unabbreviated Stropharia. Again, if that was objectionable I'd have thought you might explain. So I am politely requesting that you discuss that edit. <small class="autosigned">—&nbsp;Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.28.189.124 (talk) 11:33, 18 June 2016 (UTC)</small><!-- Template:Unsigned IP --> <!--Autosigned by SineBot-->
:It's often difficult to distinguish those who add what seems to be ridiculous information from vandals. See reliable sources for information on what is required in terms of sourcing requirements on Wikipedia. The vernacular name "Kenny G" will have to have been used in a reliable source for it to be included here. The first Stropharia is now abbreviated.
