Lightray (character)

He's the shining star of New Genesis and a high-spirited New God who manipulates photons to create brilliant lightblasts, hellacious heat, lasers and holograms! Unlike his grim friend Orion, Lightray is cheerful and optimistic and prefers to solve problems through compromise rather than combat. He uses the speed of light to his advantage in elluding foes. He was also a member of the Justice league but his first appearance was in New Gods #1 Febraury 1971.

One of Jack Kirby's better DC characters, Lightray appeared in WB's Superman episodes and later Justice League Animated.  As Sollis his idea of fun is protecting New Genesis from Apokolips, Darkseid, and his minions.
