Protect Me Knight (まもって
Players assume the roles of four character classes (Fighter, Ninja, Amazon and Mage) tasked with the duty of protecting a princess from legions of oncoming monster hordes. Protect Me Knight features 8-bit visuals and audio and contains different digital box art styles for the Japanese and English versions of the game, as a humorous spoof to the regional box art differences of video games from the 8-bit and 16-bit eras.[2]
Legacy
A sequel to Protect Me Knight, titled Protect Me Knight 2, was released in Japan for the Nintendo 3DS eShop in September 2014, and later as Gotta Protectors in July 2016.[3] A third entry on the Nintendo Switch, titled Susume!! Mamotte Knight: Hime no Totsugeki Serenade, was released in Japan on October 10, 2019.[4] Initially scheduled for worldwide release in 2020,[5] it missed the date and has seen no updates since, though development lead Karu_gamo has stated in an interview with Siliconera on February 5, 2021[6] that the translation for the game is finished.
