Initial review

@WPCW: my initial response was 'surely this isn't notable', but on reflection the content is well-sourced, and an inn that was that was in operation for over 200 years should be noteworthy. My main concern is that the incidents listed are not 'noteworthy' (see WP:NOTEWORTHY), and are too trivial to mention in a Wikipedia article. If you remove these there is not much left, but it would still be a useful stub. I would like to see more on the building. Most 18th century buildings are listed, so there is may be a listing building description somewhere. If it is not listed then it may have been rebuilt later. It would be worth looking in the Pevsner Architectural Guide for Clwyd if you can find a copy. It may be useful to compare the E&C with the Wynnstay Arms nearby, also an 18th century inn which is probably in more need of an article.[1] Was either of them a coaching inn? Lastly, the article title should be 'Elephant and Castle, Wrexham', as disambiguation should use only as much additional detail as necessary, and there is unlikely to be another noteworthy Elephant and Castle in Wrexham, see WP:ATDAB. @Verbcatcher, hi, a few years later, I've since tried to revive the article again using what I easily found online and the older version. But surprised most I could find was on the incidents of the pub, with it becoming notorious for it apparently rather than the building itself, but I do believe Annie Chapman's father should have a mention with some notability. Did not notice this comment initially, just found the old redirect was an article and wanted to try and see if it could be revived, although accept it is weaker than I had hoped, but hoping physical sources can be found at a later date. Wouldn't mind merging this back again to History of Wrexham, which @WPCW had done before, if it needs it. DankJae 10:14, 19 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
