Gulwareen Bacha (Pashto: ګلورېن باچا) (born Feb 23, 1996) is a Pashtun singer, musician, civil engineer and composer who, since beginning his musical career in 2021. He is the nephew of Afghan singer, Haroon Bacha.[1]
Early life
Bacha had an inborn tendency towards music and was evident in his personality. He had taken part in several singing competitions in his school era and had engraved his name on multiple awards. Bacha had been going easy with music but Edwardes College happened to be the game changer for him. He restarted the music society in edwardes college, which had been shut after the insurgency wave had struck peshawar. For the first time bacha, being an inter student, happened to be the president of Music Society of the college.[2]
Career
Bacha kick started his career by releasing track, named "Khyal". Khyal was a softrock genre and the lyrics were written by DSP iqbal momand (late). Followed by a tappey track which connected Bacha to masses. Both the tracks had a reformative message. Later on Bacha worked for Girls' education, producing a track: "Maktab ta zam" in collab with Malala fund and azcorp production to enlighten the importance of girls' education.[3][4] Bacha tried to raise voice for transgender rights too and produced a song named "HarDam", the video starred an active transgender and they tried to portray the miseries through the visuals.[5] Bacha has recorded a few numbers to encourage interreligious harmony and tolerance. He caputered most of his fanbase by releasing Hamza baba's rubayat named "Za Yam".
Bacha, in his young age, Received acknowledgment and blessings from maestros from within and across the border Including Ustad ghulam ali Khan, Anup Jalota, Sonu Nigam and Dr Radhika chopra.
Bacha's motive is to use music for a cause. Whereas people do music for fun, bacha looks upon it as a tool to convey constructive messages, and so is he doing.
Amid singing, Bacha has been directing and arranging music for his Akin uncle Haroon Bacha. Gulwareen Bacha has produced music for "Saudagara, Ma ragora Sam Sam" and counting.
